Before long, the novelty of being kids wears off and we all settle down. Vis looks like he's about to self destruct, so it's probably a good thing.
Cap is drawing something, Stark is poking at a tablet, Nat and Loki are arguing, Clint is rolling around, Sam and Rhodey are watching TV and Wanda and I are taking it in turns to read to each other. Apparently, having baby brains affected our ability to read, as we're reading loudly and slowly, working each sound out before saying it. Frankly, it's embarrassing.
We finish the book we were reading, and, in the relative quiet that follows, I hear Stark say, "Steve, I don't feel like myself."
We look up, curious, to find him rubbing his hairless chin. Cap leans over and draws him a beard with his permanent marker.
"Thank you," Stark mutters, and he goes back to prodding the tablet.
I get to my feet and toddle over to him, looking over his shoulder. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to fix this," he snaps, "Now go away so I can work."
I peer closely at the screen, but all I see are a bunch of random numbers and science mumbo jumbo.
"Hey, do you mind, Sonic?"
"Right. Sorry."
I back away and sit down next to Wanda.
"He's grumpy," she notes.
"Very," I nod, "And mean."
"Yes." Wanda looks thoughtful for a moment, then waves her hand.
Stark's tablet floats out of his hand and into Wanda's.
He instantly leaps to his feet and runs over as fast as he can without falling.
I spot Vis get to his feet on the other side of the room, clearly about to put a stop to the proceedings, and I speed over to him and tie him to the seat with the TV wire. When I speed back to my sister's side, Sam and Rhodey are yelling at me for stopping their program.
"Give that back" Stark yells at Wanda, oblivious to the chaos behind him.
"Not until you apologise for being mean to my brother," Wanda replies, her eyes furious. I really love my sister.
"Me apologise?!" Stark points at me, "He's the one that was being annoying!"
That's a mistake. I may be twelve minutes older than her, but Wanda's always been just as protective as I am of her. When she got stronger powers, it just increased that. Stark basically just signed his own death certificate.
Wanda waves her hand, and the tablet shatters. There's a moment of shocked silence, then Stark runs at Wanda.
"You've doomed us all!" he yells, punching her. Wanda panics and curls up.
That's when I get involved. No one hurts my sister. I speed into the fray and start punching Stark with my chubby fists. Rhodey and Sam, mad at me for turning off the TV, start attacking me. Nat and Loki leap onto the pile too, probably just for fun. Cap just sits there, looking slightly confused.
"ENOUGH!!" Vis yells, and he breaks free from the wire and pulls us apart.
Everyone freezes, shocked. None of us have ever heard him raise his voice before.
"Stark, apologise to Pietro. Wanda, find Stark a new tablet. Pietro, fix the TV. Loki, Nat, Sam, Rhodey, GO SIT DOWN!"
We all hurry to do as we're told. Angry is Vis is terrifying.
