CHAPTER 3

VLADIMIR LAZAR

(Unexpected Visitors)

I was having an early meal with my parents, when our butler, Boris, entered the dining hall and said, "Master Dmitry, two people are here to bear gifts"

"What for?" asked my father.

"For welcoming us into the neighborhood, duh" I said

"Really? oh how exciting!", my mother exclaimed.

I sighed, got up and started to walk out of the room. Just as I reached the doors, my father said. "Where are you going Vladimir? Are you not going to join us in welcoming our unexpected guests?"

"Vladimir, dear/ you should join us. Don't be rude." chided my mother.

"No thank you" I replied and walked out of the door.

I went straight up to the attic. My favorite place in this old mansion. I hated being alone. I wanted someone who can be with me, not just as a friend. I sighed again. I sat down on one of the crates and sulked. I could hear laughter downstairs, as well as my parents' and Boris' footsteps. I heard the door open and my father say, "Welcome guests! We are sorry for the horrible mess, but we did no expect any visitors".

"Oh, it's fine! We were just dropping off some cookies my mom made to welcome you into the neighborhood", a high sharp voice replied. I gritted my teeth.

"That's very thoughtful of you" , mother replied. I rolled my eyes at their formal manner.

"Pray tell, what are your names?" mother continued.

"My name is Georgiana and this is my friend Jenny", answered a new voice. It caught me off guard. Wow....that voice...... I strained my ears to hear more.

"What a lovely name, Georgiana" said father. Yes, divine. I agreed silently.

"Darling! We've forgotten to introduce ourselves!" exclaimed mother.

"Oh heavens, how rude! Forgive us ladies. My name is Dimitry Lazar and this is my wife Viktoria Lazar, we have a son named Vladimir but he's run off somewhere" said father. I groaned. I should have gone with them! I would have met this angel named Georgiana. I said to myself, regretting my behavior.

"It's nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Lazar", replied Georgiana.

"Here are the cookies, we hope you like them!" Jenny inserted. Damn, her voice is so annoying.

"Thank you", I heard father say.

"Oh how rude of me! Again my humble apologies. This is out loyal butler, Boris. He's been in our family foe centuries!" father exclaimed. Uh-oh. I heard a sharp intake of breath.

"Would you like to join us for dinner?" my mother asked.

"uhm.....no thank you, our parents are probably looking for us",I heard Georgiana answer.

"are you sure? Boris is an excellent cook" insisted mother. Yeah, especially if it's rare.

"thank you for you offer Mrs. Lazar, but we have school tomorrow and I promised ,my dad I'd be home early. But maybe Jenny can join you guys", Georgiana replied. Such a beautiful voice. I thought to myself.

"I would love to, but, I also promised my mom that I'll be home before seven", answered Jenny.

"That is unfortunate, but perhaps next time?", father said.

"of course, Mr. Lazar" , replied that angelic voice. Sigh.

"Can we meet your son before we go?" Jenny asked. Shut up please? I thought to myself, gritting my teeth.

"We would love to introduce him to beautiful girls like you, but I'm afraid we can't find him!" father replied. I snorted. Like I would want to meet you! Georgiana on the other hand......

"I wonder where he is........" I heard my mother say.

I heard a tiny giggle and knew instantly that it came from Georgiana. It sounded like a peel of bells. Ah.....music to my ears.

"Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow then" said Jenny in a disappointed voice.

"yes, indeed", mother agreed.

"we will go now, it was nice meeting you Mr. Dmitry and Mrs. Viktoria, it was nice meeting you too Boris", Georgiana said in her angelic voice.

"It was a pleasure having you in our home Georgiana, Jenny as well", I heard my father reply. I heard footsteps and the main door open. I peeked through the attic window.

"Thank you miss, you've been very kind to us", I heard Boris say.

"It was our pleasure, Boris", replied Georgiana.

I could see her, Georgiana, on our porch. She was wearing a metallic blue, form fitting, turtle neck sweater, and she looked gorgeous. Her hair was raven black, she had beautiful gray eyes and pink, full lips. I saw her smile at our butler. Oh man....What a smile. She was so beautiful that she damn near broke my heart. I watched as they walked away from my house. Then she turned around andlooked straight at me. Those stormy eyes boring into mine. "Vladimir", I heard my mother call. Then I stepped reluctantly away from the window.
