CHAPTER 1

GEORGIANA

(Surprising News)

A loud buzzing noise woke me up, rubbing my eyes, I got up and grabbed my alarm clock. It displayed 7:00 am. With a sigh, I turned the alarm off and got out of bed.

"Georgiana! Hurry up, you'll be late for school" I heard my mom call.

"I'm coming" I called back. I took a peek from my window and saw that it was going to be a cold day so I decided to wear something warm.

"Georgiana!" I heard my mom call again.

"I said I'm coming, jeeze mom!" I hurried downstairs and saw that everyone was ready. "Morning mom, morning dad" I greeted my parents.

"Good morming Daniel" I said, greeting my little brother. "Morning Georgie!" he replied back excitedly.

"Georgiana, breakfast is on the table, eat now before it gets cold" my mom told me. I sat down at the table and ate some waffles, I was halfway through my third waffle when I heard the school bus pull over in front of the house. "Oh, Mom gotta go!" I said.

"Okay sweetie, be careful" my mom replied.

"Bye bye Georgie" Daniel said waving a tiny spoon. I kissed my little brother on the cheek as I left.

"Hey Georgiana!" my friend Jenny called as I got in the bus "I saved a seat for you" she said, patting a spot next to her.

"Hey" I said, sitting down.

"Oh my god! You are so gonna flip about what I am gonna tell you!!" Jenny exclaimed.

"What?" I asked, curious.

"Remember that old mansion a block from your house?"

"Yeah....what about it?" I asked.

"A family finally bought it. I heard they're from Romania. I'm so excited to meet them. Oh I hope they have a uber hot son!" Jenny rattled on.

"You're kidding" I said.

"I am not!" she answered. "I'm going to visit their house later! Mom said that we had to welcome our new neighbors" Jenny said excitedly. "you should totally come with" she added.

"I'm in" I said, feeling excited too.

We arrived in school, and I noticed that the Romanians' arrival seemed to be the hottest news here to the students of Jackson High. The warning bell rang. Jenny and I hurried off to our first class. First period was English with Mr. Gleeson, a man in his thirties with a bushy brow, receding hair and irritable nature.

"Good morning class, tomorrow we will have a new student, he's from Romania and I expect you to welcome him warmly to our school". There were murmurs around the room after our teacher annpunced out soon-to-be classmate's arrival.

"Oh, I hope he's hot!" jenny exclaimed. I just smiled at my friend. Mr. Gleeson immediately went back to our topic for the day. We were going to study Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. We all groaned at the thought of translating deep phrases from the Elizabethan period.

The bell rang and we scurried off to second period. Our teacher, Mr. Donahue, said about the same things as Mr. Gleeson, that we should all warmly welcome our new classmate to our school. I knew there weren't many new comers in this town, but I didn't get how our new citizens' arrival was such a big deal to everyone, yeah sure I was excited, who wouldn't be? But still...

The day passed by and all I heard were endless gossip about our new neighbors, even the teachers kept talking about them. School ended around 4:00 pm and I made arrangements to meet Jenny around 5:00 at her house.
