it was the middle of the night. the sky was dark, yet beautiful purely because of the stars dotted around. though it was beautiful, the aura felt eerie and the sound of clashing swords and yells of pain added to that feeling of eeriness.

"kazama." a girls voice spoke.

"woman, be quiet." the man replied sitting by the window, staring at the fighting men outside. his companion, amagiri, stood opposite him while the girl who had spoken was sat on the floor, hands tied with a rope to keep her from escaping.

"my name is keiko." she mumbled, angrily. her eyebrows furrowed as she spoke. the way he said it seemed so degrading and it annoyed her. well, maybe annoyed wasn't the most fitting word. it definitely pissed her off. she wanted to say more but prevented herself when a voice could be heard from outside.

"hey, no fair! those guys are mine!" the voice sounded young and energetic. she could tell he was thrilled by winning against his opponents — maybe a bit too much excitement for the situation.

footsteps approached the door and two boys pushed it open leaving a gap for them to peak into the room before entering. slowly, the two entered with their katanas drawn. they had taken notice of the girl that sat there, looking to be a captive. she was undoubtedly breathtaking. tanned skin, dark blue long hair, piercing yellow eyes and wearing a white kimono that was muddy, but the dirty kimono didn't take away from her beauty.

"you bastards." the one she had heard yelling outside said to kazama and amagiri then glanced at the girl who stared back. her eyes then traveled to his arms that tensed after speaking. the way he held his weapon told her that even though he looked small, he was indeed strong and well skilled. a part of her was looking forward to seeing him fight and beat his opponent, but if it was the demons it would be impossible.

she looked away and to the window as the younger boy took a stance and charged at amagiri, who she knew to be extremely strong. he wouldn't stand a chance.

the boy let out a pained cry as he got kicked back and through one of the wall panels. almost on instinct, keiko turned around to get up and help, but had to remind herself the consequences of doing so. it would have given away the fact that the ropes on her hands were undone so that she could escape out the window later.

"what the hell are you?" the boy demanded, standing up and clutching his katana with new spots of blood on his face.

"stop. you have no reason to fight with me." amagiri said, holding his hand up.

"what was that?" he asked, offended. he stood his ground, waiting for amagiri to speak so they could continue the fight.

"if you fall back now, i won't take your life indiscriminately. don't be foolish."

"unfortunately for you, i do have a reason. i can't overlook what you choushuu guys are doing! not to mention keeping girls captive!" the boy exclaimed, charging at him again.

keiko tilted her head, amusingly, at the boy who had acknowledged her and wanted to save her. 'how heroic' she thought. the look on her face quickly morphed into one of confusion at what he had mentioned that she previously overlooked.

"choushuu?" she muttered, her brain working to put together what he was talking about.

"i honestly can't say i'm pleased you've decided i'm one of the ones you call choushuu." amagiri pulled the boys sword, throwing his body forward and then shoved him back, making him let out a groan while he threw a solid punch straight to his forehead. he was knocked back into the walls creating a dusty mess. his body laid limp under rubble, covered in dust and bruises from the damage the demon had done.
