while the day before was joyous and peaceful, today was stressful for all.

it all started when keiko was sat in the garden, sharpening her daggers. her arms were sore and weak from yesterday so it took a lot of energy to sharpen the daggers. her ears perked up when hearing footsteps getting closer. without much thought she thrusted a dagger towards the sound of the footsteps.

heisuke let out a cry as he just missed it and fell to the floor. "what the hell, kei!"

"don't sneak up on me next time and... did you just call me kei?" she asked, putting aside the daggers and standing up. heisuke handed her the one she threw at him.

"it's a nickname. if you don't like it i'll stop calling you that!" he exclaimed, flustered. she shook her head at the boy she thought was adorable.

"i like it."

his ears went red. thankfully, it was dark and she couldn't see. he had a habit of blushing at almost every cute thing she said or even anything he liked her saying.

"should you— ah!"

"what?" keiko asked, getting so scared by the panicked boy.

"spider!"

"where?!"

she spun around seeing a large spider dangling there. she tried backing away, because of a huge fear of those disgusting beasts, but as she walked backwards she tripped over heisuke's feet and fell to the floor, her hand landing on one of her daggers. she lifted her hand up, examining the blood that dropped down to her wirst.

"ah shit you ok..." heisuke trailed off, his eyes set on the blood from her hand. he fell beside her as his eyes went red and his hair began to turn white.

keiko watched, frightened. not for herself but for him. her mind went back to that time a man attacked chizuru in her room and the people sannan fought with. kazama said they were mere humans being turned into demons.

"there's no way..." keiko muttered.

she couldn't believe it. he took that drink and didn't even tell her. it felt like there were so many things he hesitated to tell her. she wouldn't judge, she'd just like to know.

"stay back!" he yelled as the girl went to help him from the floor, but while yelling that his hand was reaching to grab her.

he was trying to resist it and quickly pulled a packet of something out his pocket then poured it into his mouth, swallowing it. his hair soon went back to brown and his eyes went back to the colour it was before.

"are you alright?!" she kneeled next to him, a hand on his back.

"yes." he replied.

"why didn't you tell me?" she asked, the disappointment evident in her voice.

"it's not that big of a deal." he said, shaking his hand at her as he caught his breath.

"not that big of a deal?! are you hearing yourself?"

"kei please." he pleaded not wanting to continue the conversation.

"even if it isn't a big deal to you, it is to me! so just tell me next time. i know it might be hard—"

"you know nothing about me! i don't need to tell you anything! we're basically strangers!" he yelled, in a moment of frustration. he didn't want to say it, he really didn't. it was the demon part of himself and he regretted every word.

"i see." she said, stopping her voice from cracking. clutching her daggers in her hands, she walked away. "good night, toudou."

"no! wait keiko i didn't mean it! please..." he dropped his head into his hands as the girl kept walking around a corner. he let out a frustrated sigh knowing he really messed up. "shit."
