Chapter 1: The Beginning

*Beep! Beep! Beep! *

Y/n: ' Crap, I forgot the alarm is very loud! I guess a new day is going to be a good day. I hope. '

Y/n was already leaving his bedroom when he heard his phone rang. It was from his father, Yoshikage Kira who was calling him.

Y/n: Dad? I thought he wasn't going to call for a few days but whatever, he is probably concerned.

He smiled at the thought of it and then answered the call.

Y/n: Hey dad, how is Morioh there? Are you doing good?

Kira: I'm fine, there's no chaos there and Morioh is such a fine place. How are you doing?

Y/n: I'm good, however most people are scared me. However, Shido and Kotori are a handful bunch even though they are my friends.

Kira: (chuckles a bit) So it's just a normal life for you huh? I only called since I was worried about your state, it's only been a week since you haven't seen me. Don't worry, I'll return a week or so.

Y/n: Thanks dad, for everything. Anyway, I need to go to school.

Kira: Take care of yourself son.

*Beep*

Y/n: High Voltage, accelerate.

He then glowed and his speed accelerated, doing all the household chores by himself within ten minutes. By the time he was done, he was seen already sipping coffee. Checking the time in his digital clock, he then went out and saw Shido and Kotori.

Y/n: Yo, how are you guys?

Shido: We're all good! It's been only a few days and now you're feeling fine!

Y/n: Fine is more of an exaggeration. I could go with getting over it.

Shido: That's rough, you know you could visit us since your house is just a few steps away.

Y/n: Thanks, I appreciate the offer Shido. Anyway, we are gonna be late if we lollygag for a few more minutes. (pats Kotori's head) Take care of yourself, we'll be going.

Kotori then went off before the two had walked off. Y/n chuckled at this and then went two steps ahead of Shido.

Y/n: I'll leave you behind if you stay there. Let's go already.

Shido then nodded and then followed him, feeling bored of going slow. He thought of something interesting.

Y/n: Oi, Shido. I thought of an interesting idea, you wanna race towards the school? First to get to the classroom wins.

Shido: (remembers when he used High Voltage to increase their speed with Shido almost tripping) N-no! I'll trip and fall!

Y/n: (frowns) You're no fun and besides, what if we see a Spirit? We might need to run away so its best we practice it.

Shido: There's a right time for that, and it's not now. Besides, the last time we did that, I got hurt.

Y/n: I forgot that you sometimes don't get used to new speeds without my help. I'll do it when people are few. We don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

Shido: Y-yeah. I remember that, and it was embarassing.

They then finally got to their school and out of blue, Y/n closed his eyes due to getting bored easily in waiting. However, the moment their homeroom teacher, Ms. Okamine, he woke up. However, while Shido was chatting with Hiroto, he put on his earphones and then listened to music.
