"You didn't tell him!" Kourtney yelled.

"Will you lower your voice?" Nini hissed as they walked through the supermarket.

The last thing she needed was Ricky's fans overhearing.

"Why didn't you tell him?" Kourt asked in a lower voice.

"Because of the whole tour thing." Nini answered, picking up a carton of eggs and checking them.

"Don't you think he'll notice every time he comes home?" Kourt reasoned, trying to stealthily sneak whipped cream into the cart, "You're going to gain a few pounds."

Nini took the whipped cream out of the cart with a glare, knowing her friend was right.

"I just don't want to get between him and his dream." she said.

"Nins." Kourt took her friend by her shoulders, "You have to tell him. And he can still follow his dreams."

"You're right." Nini sighed.

"Well duh." Kourt said, "Now where are the marshmallows?"

"Marshmallows? Why do you need marshmallows?" Nini asked, curiously.

"Is it a crime for a girl to want marshmallows?!" Kourt exclaimed, causing her best friend to giggle.

LINE BREAK

Ricky pulled up to the coffee shop where Nini asked to meet him. She sounded apprehensive on the phone and he was worried. He found her in the back corner of the shop, wringing her hands.

"Hey babe." he said, kissing her before sitting across from her.

"Hey." she said back.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"I want you to promise me something." she said.

"Sure, anything." he said, taking her hand, "What is it?"

"I want you to promise to go on that tour regardless of what I'm about to tell you." she said.

"I don't know..." he said, eyebrow raised.

"Promise me." she pleaded.

"Fine, I promise." he said softly, "What is it?"

"I'm-I'm pregnant."

Ricky didn't respond. Nini watched his eyes glaze over a bit.

"Ricky? Are you mad?"

Ricky blinked.

"M-mad?" he said, "No."

Nini waited for him to say more, but he seemed to be stuck. Her heart sunk.

"I'm sorry." she whispered.

Ricky seemed to realize what his lack of reaction was doing.

"Don't be! I'm just surprised, I mean, we were careful." he said, going around the table to sit beside her.

Nini laughed, remembering Kourtney's remark.

"'Carful' isn't 100%." she said.

He nodded in agreement.

"Look," Nini smiled, "I know this wasn't planned, but I'm kinda happy about this."

Ricky looked at his beautiful wife. He knew he wanted a baby with Nini. He knew that when Ellen asked him about it a couple weeks ago.

"I am too." he said sincerely.

He kissed her sweetly.

She smiled brightly when the pulled away, relieved.

"But, I really think I should be here for you..." he said.

"No." Nini put her hand up, "You promised."

"But Nins-"

"You promised." she repeated.

Ricky sighed; knowing his would wife would not relent.

"Alright, alright."

She let out a happy squeal.

"But I will be around that last month." he vowed, "I will not miss the birth of my child."

"That's just fine." she said.

"We're having a baby." he said, his voice in awe.

"Yes we are." she said, excitedly.

Ricky laughed, standing and bringing his wife with him, twirling her around.

LINE BREAK

Charlotte and Connor had very different responses to the news that they were going to be a big sister and big brother. Charlotte squealed in delight while Connor stomped up the stairs and slammed his door.

"I'll talk to him." Ricky said, patting Nini's leg reassuringly.

Ricky went up the stairs and knocked on Connor's door.

"Con? Can I come in?"

He took the lack of response as permission and opened the door. Connor was sitting on his bed, arms crossed angrily.

"I don't want a baby." Connor said with finality, "Mommy has to send it back."

Ricky chuckled and sat down beside his son.

"I'm afraid it doesn't work that way Little Man." he said, ruffling the little boy's hair.

"It should." Connor pouted.

"Why don't you want a little brother or sister, buddy?" Ricky asked.

"Because then you won't love me as much." Connor explained, tear falling down his face.

"What? That's not true." Ricky said, "I will always love you the same. Lots."

"That's not what Mikey said." Connor responded defensively, "He said that when his mommy had a baby, he was forgotten."

Ahh. Now they were getting to the root of the problem. Ricky pulled Connor onto his lap.

"I will never ever forget you." Ricky said. "A baby does need a lot of attention, I won't lie. But I will always make time for you and Charlotte. Always."

Connor looked only partially convinced.

"You promise Daddy?" he asked.

"I promise." Ricky said.

Connor hugged him tightly. Ricky hugged back, so grateful for the kids he already had.
