Ricky called Kat the next day and she arrived quickly. They settled into the recording studio above the garage.

"Let's get started." Nini said stiffly, pen poised over her book, "Now, I think this duet should be about heartbreak."

"But that's so sad." Kat pouted, "I have another idea."

"Go on." Ricky nodded.

"How about we make it about Hollywood, how everybody talks about everybody." Kat said.

Nini hated to admit it, but it was a good idea.

"That's great." Ricky said, nodding his head.

"So how does the writing process work?" Kat asked, not-so-subtly moving closer to Ricky.

"We just throw around words until they make some sense." Ricky replied, either ignoring Kat's advances or not noticing them- Nini wasn't sure.

Regardless, they began to write. Nini may not have liked Kat as a person, but the girl was an artist at heart and soon they had a song.

"Can I name it?" Kat begged.

"It's not a puppy." Nini blurted out without thinking.

Ricky gave her a look.

"Of course you can." he said.

Kat tapped her perfectly red lips thoughtfully.

"Everybody Talks!" she exclaimed.

"Sounds good." Ricky said.

Nini nodded in agreement.

"Oh thank you, Ricky!" Kat squealed, throwing her arms around him.

"Ricky!" Nini said sharply, standing quickly, "Can I talk to you for a moment. Alone?"

Ricky followed Nini down into the garage.

"What is the matter with you?" he asked, "You are not a rude person, but you have been nothing but cold to Kat."

"She is throwing herself at you!" Nini said, frustrated, "Don't you see?"

Ricky looked at her blankly.

"She is?"

Nini gaped at her husband, the former playboy.

"You really didn't notice?" she asked.

Ricky shrugged.

"Why would I, I've got you?" he said with a smile.

She began to cry, as she was liable to do these days.

"It's only you baby."

"I'm sorry Ricky." Nini sniffled, "I love you and trust you."

"I love you too."

He kissed her so wonderfully her toes curled.

"I'd continue," he said, pulling away, "But I do have to practice."

"O-okay." she nodded, swooning slightly, "But this will continue at another time."

"Anything you wish." Ricky said before heading back up to the recording studio.

Nini giggled, and fanned her face with her hand. Cassie dealt out some hard kicks.

"You little one," she said to her stomach as she entered the house, "are driving me insane."

Cassie just gave another kick in reply.

LINE BREAK

"This is hopeless. I'm not going." Nini tossed another dress aside.
