Chapter 7. He did?

        Sunlight hit my eyes just as I turned around. I groaned and tried to roll the other way except...... my LEGS were hurting too much for me to move. I closed my eyes and with all my strengh straightened myself up so I was leaning against something. The minute I opened my eyes I saw Miranda. She was a mess. She was laying down on the side of my bed sleeping. Her brown hair all tangled yet it looked beautiful. Her lips pink and swollen. But the thing about her face made me wonder why she looked so sad. Then last night just came out. Last night.....

*Last Night*
Miranda she was so ANNOYING! She drags me here and now she won't even open her mouth? Well I don't care. If she doesn't want to talk to me then I'll be going my way. Who does she think to say that my mom's a stupid fairytale creature. I had jumped out the window with my legs screaming no. I didn't care and I looked around and saw the woods. It looked pretty spooky but woods were always a good place to run for they had many trees and people couldn't find me easily. I started to walk toward the woods. As I passed the trees and was in the woods something made me look around. It made me shiver, but I wanted to be strong. So I kept walking. "Kristy....darling.....come here...." sweet soft whispery voices suddenly surrounded me and I got sleepy. Their voices started to make me want to follow them and my feet started to follow. I closed my eyes and smiled. If I just followed them everything will be alright. Smack my  nose bumped hard against a big oak tree. As I was rubbing my nose someone...someone in black walked toward me... "Hello young lady. I have been waiting for you." He seemed blurry to me. All I saw was a smile so dark like midnight. I felt something touch me and I was burning. I was burning and the pain was too much. I gasped for breath. It was something that was chocking the breath out of me. "Come on baby~ cry darling. I'll wrap you around my arms. Cry baby" I gasped as the pain increased and I was now closing my eyes as darkness wrapped me in it's arms. But no tear came out. I felt the pain now spreading in my whole body and I tried to stop it but the more I moved the more it hurt. My heart was now beating too fast and then he appeared. He raised his hands and made the bruises that were there already. I gasped and I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come out. Then coolness came around me. I felt the wet grass underneath me and the warm air blowing on my face. I couldn't move and I didn't want too. Then I felt a touch come on my arms and I braced myself for another blow or pain but instead the touch was gentle and caring. I felt the touch lift me and wrap me in it's warmth. Then I didn't feel anything until I opened my eyes right here. Right here in the bed. With Miranda sleeping on the side of the bed.

        "You're AWAKE!" Miranda's voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I nodded. "Oh Kristy! You made me scared! How could you just jump out?" I looked at her and said "Well you told me too. You were the one who wouldn't open her mouth." I saw Miranda cringe and I thought maybe I said it too harshly. "I'm sorry Kristy... I was just so mad at the moment....I should have told you everything but I was just upset at the world. It's just too hurtful to go back to the  memories." I stared at Miranda for a long time. She seemed sad and hurt. It was like I had put a knife through her heart. It hurt me and I didn't like it...."Miranda, Please tell me...I'm confused about everything here and I want to know.." I said it softly to her and she seemed startled by my voice. "Very well Kristy... I shall but before that let's have breakfast, I'm famished!" unexpectedly I laughed at her. She seemed surprised but she also smiled when she saw me laugh. I hadn't laughed in a while I thought. "How did I end up here" I asked her. Miranda went silent then she stared at me and softly said "Sir Montear carried you in his arms. He ran all the way up to my house and carried you up this room." Then Miranda nodded to Aurther and Aurther lifted me off the bed to my wheelchair. I was shocked. Sir Montear? What was he doing out in that midnight? How did he even find me?..... This was confusing.....

        "Mmmm This is delicous." I complimanted on the dish to Miranda. Miranda beamed and started to eat hers. It was weird being okay with Miranda but I liked it. "Okay may I hear the story now?" Miranda looked up at me when I asked her the question. "Alright Kristy....... As I have told you your mother is a winged creature. She's not just a winged creature but she is one of the rays of the nine golden rays of the sun. The other eight died after the wall between the dark but she was the only one who survived. It was a good thing because she was now our guider, protector and also our love. Without the rays of the sun, we winged creatures are not able to fly or have energy. We'll just rot and vanish away leaving the dark to win. If that happens then the mortals..they too have to die...If they die...the dark will grasp the golden rays and they will rule over us which makes everything horrible. You don't know but that happened once back then but the nine gold rays won back our place. But now with your mother gone...Your the only one who can take her place. You have her blood." I stayed silent until I asked her "You don't know where she is?" Miranda shook her head and replied "No one knows where she went after she dissapeared from your father." I sighed I was hoping if Miranda was family then she would know where mother was... "Wait..Miranda...How are you my family? Miranda smiled a warm smile and said "Kristy I'm your cousin. I'm just one year older than you." SHE was my COUSIN?WHAT? She didn't even look like mother. Well I guess except the beauty she has the rest no. Miranda laughed and said " I know it's kinda weird." I just shrugged. "Anyway...Since now that you're here the dark knows and they will try anything to stop you from becoming the rays of the sun. You're power to us and the dark but to us you also are hope but to them you may be destruction or an advantage. So that's why you're here. I'm protecting you. No one can destory you here for there is power that keeps this house safe from the darks. But there is a line from the woods and I guess you passed the line..." I looked up confused. "Kristy.... There is a line seperating us from the creatues in the dark. We have had a agreement that we will stay on our side and if one of us fo over then we have to face consequences like you getting killed or they take you away and no that cannot happen....The good thing is that they hurt you which makes them even so they can't take you away." As Miranda finished, everything made sense. But the only thing that didn't make sense was Sir Montear. I sighed and shrugged. "Miranda I still have a lot of questions but I'm too tired to ask." Miranda immediatly nodded and helped me back to my room to my bed. As I was comfortably in my blanket I started to fall asleep.Then I heard Miranda murmur "I don't know how or why he was there but I think...maybe...maybe.....his heart....." Her voice dropped and I wanted to ask who but I felt myslef falling into dreams and I was asleep. "Sleep well Kristy...you'll have a lot in your way..you need the strength...."she murmured and I felt the door close.
