16-year-old Lumière......
Lumière's dad came rushing in, once he heard the cries of his daughter.
"The kids at school are mean, no one wants to be my friend, and they call me a freak because of my skin"
He proceeded to kiss Lumière's forehead and hugged her tightly.
"Don't worry about what they say about your skin baby girl you're beautiful and special"
"I don't feel special"
"Well there are darknesses in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all lights"
"By Bram Stoker in Dracula," she said wiping tears from her cheeks.
He nodded ...
"They are the ones missing out on a great human being"
"Can I change how I look, daddy?"
"Then you're not going to be our my Lumi anymore, Can you imagine the world without Our Lumi?" her mom said joining the pair.
"There's nothing wrong with being different and don't let anyone tell you differently okay baby girl"
"Yes mommy I think I know what I want to be when I grow up".
"What," they both said in unison
"A nurse, today Nurse Jackie helped me when they pushed me harshly on the floor and my knee got hurt, but she made me feel better"
"Baby-girl"
"Don't worry the teacher saw the whole thing and the headmaster dealt with them"
"Good"
Then she hugged both her parents.
"My smart baby girl, don't forget to always be the light even when people try to hurt you, shine through the darkness okay " she nodded.
"This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine "her dad sang and his mom joined him...
"Okay...okay please stop singing," she said laughing...
"Thank you mommy and daddy I love you guys"
"We love you more"
Lumière felt much better after that day knowing she was loved and it was okay to be different.
