Worlds Apart

Chapter two!

(A/N real quick before we begin the chapter, I am so excited for this chapter!! :D I will probably reread this 1,000 times once the book is published, no matter how cringe it might be!! But anyway....back to the story! Don't forget that this is based in the MHA universe, however it is also based in America NOT Japan! Also, there is a slight mention of blood in this so if you don't like that I don't go into too much detail! :) OK let's get to it! Enjoy!)

I ran out of the security room and was about to leave when I heard it. Sirens.

"This can't be good." I mutter to myself while ultimately trying to keep from panicking.

I open the door to make my escape, but just as I'm about to leave an arm grabs me by the wrist. Before I knew what was happening I was being dragged up the stairs, out a window, and up the fire escape.

"W-who are you??! And why are we so high oh shi-" at that exact moment you realized just how high up I was. And I didn't like it one bit.

Clearly panicking, I started walking in circles and trying to remember how to breathe. I've always been a nervous kid, but when I start panicking there's no stopping me.

"Hey, what are you doing..?" the unidentified stranger asked me with a concerned look on his face.

"D-don't worry about it just leave me alone." I said as the ground started to twist in ways I never thought they could.

That's when I tripped, falling hard onto the ground. I tried to catch myself by falling on my knees, but I underestimated how hard the cement ground would be. I heard a loud crack and blacked out almost immediately.

(A/N this is now from the stranger that took Liv to the roof's perspective, since liv is not conscious to remember the story herself. )

"Are you ok?" I said as I looked at the girl passed out in front of me. "Hello....?" I held her up and waved a hand over her face, but she was unresponsive.

'Oh crap, she's not dead right...' I thought rolling her over and checking her pulse. My father had taught me how when I was eight, and luckily she was just sleeping.

Relief washed over me as I picked up the strange girl bridal style and accessed at her injuries. Her head was bleeding. That couldn't be good.

I was about to take her to a doctor when I realized that not only had she stolen from the bank but unfortunately you didn't have the cleanest criminal record yourself.

It was nothing violent, mostly just stealing food when you had to and skipping out on school. But it didn't matter, because now this girl had nowhere to go and no doctor to help her.

That's when I remembered something. My quirk consisted of being able to erase someone's memory. It was very physically tolling though, so I could only use it on one person. Then you would have to wait for twenty four hours.

But it didn't matter, because I knew where my dad worked. I'm not going back to staying with him, so I'd have to just erase his memory after!

I sprinted down the stairs while holding the girl in one arm. She was surprisingly light.

The police were still investigating at the bank. I cursed under my breath. The only way now was the three foot gap in between two fire escapes. I had to jump.

I got a head start, ran, and jumped. I shut my eyes tight and held onto the girl even tighter, if that was even possible. But much to my surprise, I made it!

My dad's office was right through that window, but I couldn't be less eager to go in.

I slid the window open, which was unlocked. My dad was the first to see me. "Son you're back! Who is that??" He came in for a hug but you pointed to the girl, who was still unconscious.

"Could you help me with this first please." I deadpanned, looking my father straight in the eyes. "Yes of course..!" He said, gesturing for you to put the girl down on the medical table.

The paper crumpled as the girl squirmed a bit, not waking up but adjusting her position to something more comfortable.

My father adjusted her head position, moving her hair to look at the bleeding point. (A/N I won't go into detail about this since I know that some people don't like blood or it triggers them.)

"It looks like she has a slight cut on her head, but it doesn't look deep enough to need stitches...I might need to take a closer look through an x-ray at her knee though. It looks quite swolen."

"Ok" I muttered. Being here drives me crazy. I picked up the girl and asked where the x-ray room is. "Down the hall, follow me." my father said, holding the door open for me.

~a few minutes pass as they take x-rays and go back to the exam room to look at the results~

"It looks like her knee is broken, but it's pretty clean and should be back to normal in a few months. Be careful with her head, she might be dizzy when she wakes up because of it." my dad said.

"Ok." I said, walking closer to my dad and activating my quirk. "Oh, and by the way, we were never here. Got it?"

I said, once again looking my dad in the eyes, this time using the power from my activated quirk.

"Ok. I never saw you." Dad said, a gray tint forming in his eyes. "Good." I said, climbing out of the window and putting the girl on my back.

I walked down the sidewalk, pulling both my hoodie and the girl's hoodie on our heads tight. The girl whimpered.

I had forgotten about the cut on her head. "Sorry!" I said, trying to walk faster without waking up the sleeping girl on my back.

She hummed in response, drifting back to sleep. I knew I had to hurry to get back to the house, and with the heavy brace how on the girl's knee it was ten times harder to get to where I needed to go.

About five minutes later, I finally made it back to the abandoned house to which I know lived. I opened the door with one hand, put the girl on the musty old ripped up couch, and sat down beside her.

I was going to wait for her to wake up, but sometime around four thirty I drifted off, putting my head on the arm of the couch. The last thing I remember thinking is 'I wonder who this girl could be to need to steal from that bank..'

(A/N in the next chapter the perspective goes back to liv since she will wake up as soon as the chapter begins! I'm sure that will become obvious, but I am still going to clarify just because! The next chapter should be up soon I'm on a roll! :D See y'all in the next chapter!)
