(A/N: Hello!! Sorry I haven't written in a few weeks, I've been trying to find a schedrule to update that works with school :) However, I figured it out, so I'll be updating more frequently now! Also, I will be making minor edits to my chapters so if/when that happens sorry if I accidentally blow up your device with notifications 😅  back to the schedrule thing I will be updating every other day if I can so be ready for that! :D Anyways imma start the chapter now so thank you for reading and sticking with me!! okay bye!)

"I think we should keep going if you're ready to. Just don't want anyone finding us." Jay said, looking around the corner with a gleam of worry in his eyes.

"Ok let's go...but do you have to pick me up this time?" I asked.

"I'd say okay, but how would you walk?" He asked, probably not expecting me to have a plan. Ha. Newbie.

"Ok so there's that tree over there, right. So, what if I broke off one that was pretty long, put it out in front of me, and kind of just swung on it like a pole vault crossbar?"

"The heck is a pole vault crossbar??" Jay asked.

"Oh, it's like a stick that you swing on to get over a pole. It's used in an olympic sport called...pole vaulting I think? I don't know something like that. I used to watch it with my grandpa." I stated while testing a tree branch to see how strong it was.

"Ok we can try it. But if it doesn't work I'm just going to carry you. Deal?"

It's not like I have another choice...and I might as well try to avoid being carried like a stupid sack of potatoes right??

"Deal." I said, looking him straight in the eyes with my stick in hand.

Alright stick. You'd better work.

I backed up, finally deciding that this stick would have to do.

After gaining some much needed distance, I started running/limping forward while putting the stick in front of me, half leaning on it in order to not crush my right knee.

Luckily, the stick was a bit taller than me, so when it hit the ground my feet were elevated slightly, just enough to take the pressure off of them.

I landed on my good leg, shooting a triumphant smile to Jayden. (reminder: Jayden is Jay, Jay is just a nickname! :) sorry if I switch a lot!)

we start walking, well Jayden walking and me almost bouncing on my stick...but it didn't matter if it was a stick or not we still get to the same destination and quicker!

"Hey Jay?" he looked at me and hummed in response.

"Where are we going now?"

"....not sure yet!" He said with an oddly positive looking expression on his face.

I looked at him while doing my best to get used to the stick bouncing. And yes, I have decided that I'm going to call it stick bouncing. It's more accurate to what I'm doing!

"Ok well, let me know when you figure that out...?" I said.

He looked at me and chuckled.

"Will do" Jay said, continuing to walk down what seemed like the tenth alleyway we've been in throughout the past ten minutes.

"Wanna play a game while we walk? I'm bored." I asked while trying to figure out if I could do a trick while in the air stick bouncing.

After consideration I have decided that I cannot do a trick while stick bouncing.

Jayden surprised me with an answer to my game question, knocking me out of my own thoughts.

"Sure, but I get to pick the game!" He said.

I could tell he obviously had a game in mind, so I replied with a quick "sure!"

"Ok let's play wrong answers only." He said.

I turned to him slightly with a confused look on my face.

"Um, what's wrong answers only?" I asked.

He looked back at me excitedly.

"It's a game where I ask you a question and you have to answer with something that you wouldn't usually respond with. For example, if I asked you what your name was, you could say something like-"

"Your worst nightmare!" I said interrupting Jaydens thorough game instructions.

"Yes, that!" He said sweat-dropping.

"Okay, you go first and I'll ask a question!" I exclaimed. For some reason I was getting really excited about this. It seemed like fun!

"Okay shoot" He said, trying to find the next alleyway.

"Hmm...." I thought back to anything that I could use to get a funny answer. Then I thought of it.

"hehe there once was an old lady that swallowed a..." I said, wondering what Jayden would respond with.

He looked around him, then figured out an answer.

"stick." He said while somehow keeping a straight face. I burst out laughing.

"Haha, ok your turn!" Jay said.

"Aww but I was having a lot of fun creating questions!" I said while laughing.

"That's not how the game works! You still have to answer mine!" He exclaimed.

"Fine..." I mumbled.

"Okay, what's two plus two?" "Really? Mine was better, just saying." I said.

"That's not an answer.." He said looking back at me.

"Fine. Pie." I said.

"Haha like the number?" He asked in between laughs.

"Who ever said anything about numbers, I'm just hungry!" I said jokingly.

"Wow ok, let's find something to eat then." Jay said, finally starting to catch his breath after the laughing fit from earlier.

"Okay!" I said, now so excited about food that I forgot all about the game that we were playing.

There was a gas station across the street, and obviously we didn't have much money on hand, so we went there.

We both sat down and emptied our pockets. I had around three dollars and Jayden had a five dollar bill, so we were able to get some chips to split and two sodas.

"Yummy!" I exclaimed. We had gotten my favorite chips, which happened to be the cheapest, so I got pretty lucky.

Honestly, the only down side was that I had to share, but I did anyways and sipped my soda.

(A/N (again lol): sorry if this came out as a fluff chapter! I was trying to write at least 1,000 words in this chapter, but I ran out of ideas. On the other hand, every word builds the storyline 😋  Anyways, I will see you guys in the next chapter! Bye!)
