*Shuichi pov*
"Kokichi? What's wrong?" I came closer to him. He wiped his tears with his sleeve.
"Nothing, I'm fine!" He got off of the little couch, "Let's go! They are probably waiting for you." He added, walking out of the bathroom. That was strange.. I didn't think too much of it and followed Kokichi outside.
*time skip*
Miu and I spilt off from Kiibo and Tenko for a bit, they wanted to go do their own thing. Kokichi followed close behind us, but he kept quiet. Miu is still the same as she was, but a lot nicer. Her personality hasn't changed at all, she just has much for empathy for others, which is good. She doesn't wear the same outfit anymore, she says it brings back bad memories, which is understandable. The only thing I kept from the killing game is my hat.
Pretty much all I wear now is black or gray hoodies. Usually I don't have a lot of color on me, but sometimes I'll put on something that isn't black or gray.
"We should go to Hot Topic!" Miu says literally out of no where.
"Sure," I agree and she takes my hand, dragging me there. Kokichi was still following us, but at a slower pace. He would catch up soon I think. We reached the entrance of Hot Topic and stepped inside. We both looked around for a while, I saw a lot of things that I like but I have a limited amount of money.
After about 10 minutes Miu settled on a few pairs of earring, and a choker. And I got a black mini backpack with a little bunny on it. It did cost $50 but it's very good quality, so I guess it's worth it. Miu paid for her things first, and after she was done it was my turn. I stepped up to the counter and placed the backpack onto it. The cashier scanned it.
"$51.32 is your total." She said,
I was digging around in my bag for my card, It was taking me a while to find it because I didn't have a wallet for some reason. But Miu said something that caught me off guard.
"I'll pay!" And she swiped her card, and the transaction was approved.
"What? No! I can pay for myself!" I protested, feeling guilty. I didn't want to take her money.
"Too late," Miu replied back, the cashier put the receipt next to the bag and smiled,
"You two have a nice day!" I looked at her
"Thanks you too" Miu said, grabbing my bag and the receipt then dragging me out the door. Once we got out of the store she handed me my bag.
"I have to pay you back!" I yelled at Miu, she laughed.
"No need, I can afford it."
I still felt really guilty. But then I remembered her birthday is coming up soon! Today is November 13th, and her birthday is on the 16th! I can get her something for her birthday to pay her back.
"Hey guys!" Tenko shouted to us waving her hand excitingly. She had a few bags of things with her, so did Kiibo. This is perfect, I can go off by myself and get Miu something while she stays with Tenko and Kiibo. Miu and I waved back at them.
"I'll be right b-back." I said before scurrying off somewhere else. I glanced behind me and saw Kokichi following me. I forgot he was here, he's been so quiet this whole time. I stopped once I got out of their sight. "What do you think Miu would want for her birthday?" I asked Kokichi, he looked at me with a confused look.
"Why are you asking me? You're the one who is friends with her. But if you want my opinion I say get her makeup or something. She was rambling about how she needed more of it when you were in one of your deep thinking moments." Kokichi replied.
"Ah ok, uhm I think they have a makeup store somewhere around here." I start walking around looking for the store and I finally found it. I mean it was only like two stores down but still. Kokichi and I stepped in, and we both got blinded by the bright lights.
"Welcome! What are you thinking about purchasing today?" A lady greeted me, it startled me a bit.
"Oh.. I was just coming in to buy something for my friend. Her birthday is coming up and I wanted to get her something." I said to the lady.
"Alright, I'll come around to check up on you." Then she walked away, Kokichi and I started looking.
"Why are there so many brands?" Kokichi asked, I giggled. I picked up a little black thing, it was eyeliner.
"This will work I guess." I say, looking for other things.
"Shumai over here, there are good eye shadow pallets" Kokichi said to me. I walked over to him and looked at what he was pointing at. I grabbed it and took a look at it. $45? Damn makeup is very expensive. This pallet has like 25 colors on it, and it looked pretty high quality.
"What else should I get, these both are $55 total." I say to Kokichi quietly, just so no one would think I'm talking to myself.
"I don't know, how about a lipstick?" He suggested, I nodded and walked over to the lipsticks. They all looked really nice. I picked up a black one and a pink one.
"These will do." I say. Kokichi and I walked over to check out and I paid for the things. The total came out to be $70. That's a lot of money, I hope she likes it. I grab the bag of makeup and walk out of the store, Kokichi follows me. "Do you think she will like it?" I ask,
"Yeah, she probably will." Kokichi replies. We keep walking, I pull out my phone to check the time. We've been gone for 30 minutes, oh god they're probably worried. We were walking for a bit and then we finally found them.
"Hey.." I walk up to them, Tenko wraps her arms around me without warning.
"We were so worried about you!! What happened!!" She yelled, I stuttered before being able to talk.
"S-sorry, I got lost. I've never been to this mall before.." I lied. But everyone seemed to believe it.
"What's in the bag?" Kiibo asked me, I lightly pushed Tenko off of me.
"N-nothing important.." I reply, I lied again. Thankfully the store I went to didn't put their logo on the bags, and even better the bags were basically opaque.
"Ok if you say so.." Kiibo said
"I'm hungryyyy" Miu whined, and now that she said something, I'm actually pretty hungry too.
"Same, we should get something to eat." Tenko suggested.
