I climbed the stairs of our place.
The roof.
Mandy and I always stayed here, we spent most of our time up here. Mandy and I were best friends since we were six. We both knew a lot about each others, our likes, dislikes. Favorite movies, color, and food.
I saw her sitting on the roof, with her knees are pulled to her chest, arms around them and her chin is in the palm of her hands. She was zoned out, enjoying the view.
I smiled wondering what was she thinking about while her beautiful long brown hair was flowing around, by the air. "There you are," I said and she turned around, she smiled and patted the space next to her for me to sit.
"What took you so long?" She asked. "I thought you weren't coming, Haz."
"I'll never miss a moment with you, Mo."
"Aw, how sweet. Says the one who didn't call me or texted me when I needed him." I frowned not understanding what she meant.
"Love, I don't understand." She sighed, "Your cupcake?" I gave her a grin while handing her the red velvet cupcake, and she smiled like a little kid at a candy store.
I loved her smile and I loved making her smile. "I kinda forgive you though, but I'm still mad at you a bit," She said as she took it from me and took a bite. I shook my head laughing.
"Why? What did I do?"
"I already told you."
"But I'm always here if you need me." I smiled and she looked at me smiling. "You know that right?" I asked her and she nodded her head taking another bite. She sighed again and I took my chocolate cupcake out of the box to eat it as well.
She looked at it then a smirk found it's way on her face, "Chocolate cupcake, eh?"
"Yeah, what's new?" I asked, confused. "You know I love it, and I always eat it anyways."
"Oh god," She shook her head giggling. I didn't know what's up with her, I mean what's the difference today? I always used to come here and eat my chocolate cupcake as she ate hers. But she seemed different.
I wondered if she still looked the same right now. I mean in the future - Shit! What I keep thinking about is this is a dream. It's a crazy thing actually, I can't believe it. I don't know how to describe it.
Does she look the same? Is she the same Mandy I'm sitting with right now? Same smile and laugh, same amazing personality, same look?
I bet no. Of course she looks different now, she changed just like I did. I have longer hair and not like this curly short one, my voice got deeper and I became taller.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Huh?" I zoned out and she was raising her eyebrows. "N-Nothing."
"If you say so," She said shrugging.
"So, what's up with my cupcake?" I asked taking a bite. She smirked again.
"Remember me teasing you about it and you said and I quote; 'if you ever saw me with a chocolate cupcake again, I'll do whatever you want me to do?''
"Mandy, that's ridiculous!"
"Well, it's not me who started the challenge. . . And, you know me. I always win." I groaned.
"Okay, what do you want?"
"Nope. Not that easy, give me some time to think of a. . . Revenge." I sighed but smiled at my silly best friend.
"Enough about me, and let's talk about you."
"What about me?" She asked bringing the cupcake again to her mouth and taking a bite.
"What's wrong? Why are you not the same you?" She chuckled.
"Same me?"
"Yeah! Bubbly, cute and funny Mo." I smiled at her and she blushed.
"I am not!"
"Oh yes, you are! But looks like something is bothering you, what is it?" She frowned.
"You know that date I had?" I nodded. I couldn't really remember, but I'm curious to know. "Well, it didn't go well." I frowned. Now, I'm glad I didn't remember it.
"How?"
"He. . . He didn't come." I felt her sadness, and she was holding her tears.
"Oh," I said and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her and she hugged back tightly. "I'm so sorry." She pulled back.
"It's okay, I mean I was even wondering why would he even want to go out with me-"
"Oh, don't say that!" I got angry. He didn't deserve her. she's amazing and she didn't know it. "That's bullshit. You are amazing and. . . And perfect. You deserve the best. He's an arse, he doesn't deserve you, Mandy."
"Really?" She blushed and I was really happy to know that I could do that.
"Really."
