After Akari and Izukus walk home she began to wonder. Wonder about if UA would be a good fit for her.
Akari slowly opened the apartment door hoping her uncle was either at work or asleep. she didn't really feel like being hit this afternoon. She slowly made her way through the apartment not searching for her uncle but being silent enough to listen for any noise. After about three minutes of pure silence Akari came to the reliving conclusion that she was in fact alone for now.
She slowly made her way to the kitchen looking for something to drink and a small snack to have while she did her homework for the next day.
She grabbed a cup and filled it with tap water as she looked at the dishes in the sink. She set the cup on the counter deciding to do what dishes were within the sink as to avoid some anger from her uncle.
Once she had finished the dishes she made her way to her room to complete her homework. Upon opening her door Akari saw, what could only be described as basically a bomb had went off. Her room was in utter shambles. She sighed knowing this meant her uncle had gone through her room either in search of money or something to punish her for later.
She hoped he hadn't found either. First she checked within her pillow finding her small stash of money still there making her sigh in relief. After securing her money she began to clean up her destroyed room trying to put it back to how it was before school. Once she had finished cleaning the disaster area she sat at her little desk in the corner and began to complete her homework.

After a few weeks of Izuku pestering her, Akari finally gave in and got a form for UA. He helped her filled it out for both the hero course and general studies. They figured if she didn't get in the hero course she'd for sure get into the general studies with her smarts. Now they only had to wait till the entrance exams.
"Hey lets go get something to eat Akari-chan!" Izukus sweet voice made Akari pick up her head as the final bell for school rang showing they could go home. She smiled and nodded gently. "Sure Izu. That'd be nice I guess." Akari got up grabbing her bag as Izuku got his. "Hey Izu I'm gonna go to the science room really quick to get the homework for the other day. I'll meet you at the gates ok?" she looked at him as he nodded in understanding before she left the room walking passed the Pomeranian and his 'crew', all of them moved away from her except Bakugo as he watched her leave.
As Akari made her way to the science classroom to get the homework from the teacher she thought. she thought about how this was probably the only teacher she would miss when she graduated from this school. He was a nice teacher with dark purple hair and square glasses. He was quirkless, like Izuku, and wasn't afraid of Akari like the other teacher's were. Then again he hadn't seen her quirk ever, he only knew what it did and knew how others reacted when she used it but wasn't afraid of her or it himself.
As Akari left his room she heard loud antagonistic laughing and a familiar sound of explosions. She turned away from the noises not wanting to be the next unlucky subject of the Pomeranians rage.
Akari made her way to the school gates stopping by the fountain outside. She looked at the fish as they nibbled on something...odd in the water. Akari grabbed the object realizing it was a notebook. Not just any notebook but Izukus hero notebook. Akari sighed now realizing the laughing and explosions she heard earlier were directed at Izuku. She made her way to the front gate holding the notebook. After a few minutes the green haired male was there looking at the ground fairly sad looking.
"Hey Akari-chan...." Izukus voice held sorrow as he spoke. Akari instantly picked up on it and lowered her voice so no one else could hear as she handed Izuku his notebook. "what did Bakugo say to you..." her voice was cold and dark as she spoke. Izuku quickly shook his head trying to change the subject. "N-nothing. please don't worry about it Akari-chan. lets just go eat." Akari nodded but only to appease her green haired friend. they both turned and began walking towards the city to find a place to eat.
As the two walked under a walking bridge as they tried to decide where to eat. Akari stopped walking as she heard some metal rattling. "Hey Izu do you hear that?" Said boy stopped walking and stood still trying to listen for the noise she had heard before hearing the metal sewer grate near them rattle. "what the..." he stepped closer going to investigate before yelping and falling back on his ass as the grate was suddenly thrown into the underside of the walking bridge.
Akari rushed to her friends side and crouched down next to him about to ask if he was alright before they both saw a disgustingly mucus colored anthropomorphic slime oozing up out of the now open sewer entrance. They both stood there watching in disbelief as the slime was soon completely out of the sewer entrance.
"Oooooo....you'll make such a lovely vessel for me~" the groggy, venom covered voice drifted to the two teens ears before the sludge monster suddenly jumped at the two covering them instantly. Akari and Izuku each closed their eyes tightly not exactly sure what to expect. After Akari didn't feel anything on her skin she opened her eyes and saw something she was sure was a product of her quirk.
There, right in front of her, was her only friend, Izuku Midoriya being smothered by this disgusting, gooey, sludge monster. She stared in disbelief blinking multiple times trying to turn off her quirk wondering why it wasn't working. "I didn't know he was in this city. I need to make an escape quickly..." the sickening voice filled her ears again and the green haired boy stared at her pleading for help with his eyes. It was only then, when something else flew out from the open sewer grate that she realized it wasn't a product of her quirk, but was in fact a real thing happening in front of her.
Within a few seconds multiple things happened. Number one: All Might had jumped out of the open sewer. Number two: he had somehow managed to defeat the sludge monster within a few short seconds and capture it within some empty two liter bottles he happened to have with him. And finally, number three: Akari Touma had gotten up and ran.....
Akari didn't fully understand why she had ran away but as she kept running two explanations came to her mind. the first was that she was afraid. Afraid it was her fault, afraid her friend would hate her, afraid she would be blamed for what had happened. and second was that she didn't know what else to do. she spent most of her life running from issues like this. She thought it was her quirk so she thought all she could do was run, run away.
It wasn't until later that night, around 8 pm that Izuku came to her house. Explained it wasn't her fault and he wasn't mad at her. Explained how the sludge creature had gotten Katsuki as well and explained how All Might had said he could be a hero. She found his words hard to believe, not the hero part as she always saw Izuku as a hero already, but the other parts. Later she heard on the news about Katsuki. And slowly, in her mind, everything clicked and she believed everything Izuku had said to her.And that was the first time she trusted someone since her parents had abandoned her.
