This is the story about a little girl. A little girl named for light and brightness. A little girl named Akari. Akari Touma. A name that was to mean "light atop the Mountain". But sadly unlike her boring parents who had boring useless quirks hers was a mutation. And for this she was blamed and hated.
Ostracized by her family and unwanted by society. When this light hearted sweet girl first manifested her quirk she was delighted! She hoped to have the same as her sweet, kinda hearted mother! But when she went to show her mother Akari was shoved away, called a monster, shown nothing but coldness.....

After Akaris quirk manifested things in her life began to change. At first her parents tried to help her. Tired to help guide her and force her not to use her quirk. But being only 6 she had no control. She didn't know when she was activating it, only that her eyes became very sore after wards. Akari only knew she...saw things.
Saw things that she was sure others couldn't see. The first time Akari actually saw something she screamed. She screamed as loud as she could in her bedroom. Her father came running trying to find what was wrong.
At first he didn't see anything and tried calming her down but soon...soon he saw what she saw. Because she made him. He saw their pet dog, Alex, dead on the floor. Stomach gutted open, blood soaking into the carpet beneath his, somehow, still breathing body. He quickly scooped up his daughter and carried her from the room not wanting her to see and that's when he saw.....Alex? Asleep in the hallway?
He set his little girl down in the hallway and told her to stay there. He tentatively took a step into the room and saw no breathing, gutted dog on his daughters floor. He wondered what had happened as he slowly looked around.
He tried to calm the little girl as best he could before leaving her to play. Later he told his wife what had happened, that was the first time his wife called their daughter a monster. After the dog incident mother, father and daughter began to see more and more traumatic and horrifically blooded creatures, friends and even, on rare occasions, themselves. Soon they all came to the conclusion that little Akari was a monster....

As Akari grew she also grew some semblance of control over her quirk. She learned when it was activated her eyes changed from the gentle lilac to a bright blue almost making her look blind. She also learned she could only control it for as long as she could keep her eyes open. She learned she could only make people see horrific things. And finally Akari learned when she used it for to long it made her exceedingly exhausted.
The doctors named her quirk "Trauma" and told her it was a mutation. It was harmless, physically. Emotionally and mentally however? It was very deadly. Akari had no friends. Her friends refused to be around her when they started seeing their pets and parents being cut open in front of their eyes.
Her family had had another baby and moved on from her leaving her with her physically abusive uncle after they left the country.
Akari made her way back to her uncles apartment after school. With her quirk being what it was not even the bullies of her school tried to mess with her...well all except the one boy who couldn't seem to be shaken. Katsuki Bakugo.
As she walked she turned a corner and accidentally ran smack into the bully's back making her fall on the ground with a small thud noise. Akari groaned softly as she sat up and began to apologize only stopping when she heard an angry 'tch' noise.
She looked up at the human embodiment of an angry Pomeranian as small sparks came from his hands.
"Watch where you're fucking going, you damn Mutant!" She closed her eyes expecting to be exploded or kicked by the taller boy as she nodded quickly trying to appease him. Much to her surprise nothing happened and when Akari opened her eyes she saw he was already walking away.
Akari sighed in relief and slowly stood up as an unkept mop of forest green hair bent down in front of her and grabbed a small book she had been carrying that had been dropped when she ran into the Pomeranian.
She gave a kind yet sad smile to the sweet green haired boy "t-thank you Izuku..." Akari muttered taking the book from the kind male. "I saw Kacchan...did he knock you over again?" His soft voice filled her ears calming her a little.
In all fairness if she had allowed him Izuku Midoriya would have been her only friend, and honestly he basically was despite what she believed. He was the only one not scared of her, despite seeing his mother gutted in front of him once...."No no...I ran into him by mistake...literally" she gave a small giggle at her dumb little joke. They both turned and began walking as both lived in the same apartment complex just different ends.
"Oh. Well I'm glad he didn't hurt you....did you pick up the paper for graduation? About what we wanna do and where we wanna go? I wanna go t-" she cut him off "UA I know. And I believe you'll get there Izuku. Even without a quirk."
Izuku smiled his cheeks going a small bit red at her words. "T-t-thank you Akari-chan. Are you gonna go for UA too?" His voice cheered up a little as they talked about UA. "I mean...it is a great school. I could easily get into the general studies..." Akari looked at the ground and continued "though....I doubt they'd want me in the hero course....my quirk is to...villainous" she sighed looking a little sad.
The green haired boy quickly chimed in "oh no no no!! Your quirk is amazing! It can just be a little scary at times! And you don't know how to fully control it...but they'd help with that Akari-Chan!"
Izuku tried to make her feel better but he knew it wasn't that simple. He knew how her life had been up till now.
He knew how Akari's uncle was and saw the bruises and wounds she tried to cover up. He saw how hard she tried to not let Katsuki's words and actions get to her everyday.
How hard Akari tried to control her quirk and how amazing she was doing at controlling it. Izuku admired her for her braveness and ability to keep her head held high. But he knew even her ability to brush things off was wearing thin. He saw her give up a little more everyday and it broke his heart.
Akari was the only friend he had since his childhood friend Kacchan, Katsuki, had turned into his bully. She was the only one who didn't bully Izuku for being quirkless and the few times she had activated her quirk on the poor green haired male he knew it was by pure mistake. Izuku only saw his mother once, the other times it was usually Kacchan and that horrified him....He wanted her to get better and go to UA with him though. Even if it was only in the support classes so he spoke up once more. "Akari-Chan please try for UA with me! Even if you are only in support you'd be there at least! We could help each other" Akari sighed looking away from the green haired male as she saw their apartment buildings coming into view. She stopped walking and thought for a moment.
Thought about her past, her "parents", her horrific mutation of a quirk, her only friend and her life so far. She sighed after a moment and gave a small nod. "Fine I'll try for UA but no promises Izu...." Akari tried to smile at the boy as he beamed his sunshine of a smile back at her.Akari had decided for sure right then and there she would try for UA just for her green haired friend....if only both the young teens would have known just what would be in their near futures but sadly neither could see the future or how difficult it was going to be....
A/N: wahoo! Finally back after not writing for months! Anyways what quirk would you wanna have if you could have one?
