After the sludge villain incident Izuku seems to become more closed off to Akari and she couldn't understand it. They had ten months until the entrance exams and they had talked about training together before they had been attacked but now....now it seemed like Izuku was avoiding her. She barely saw him in school and never saw him after school. Everything had turned.....weird.
Instead of training with Izuku, her friend, she was now training with....Bakugo? How this started she knew. They had ran into each other at the gym a few times. Slowly they had started talking, and talking had led to beginning to train together. Bakugo was unfazed by her quirk so he let her use it on him. Akari was at the point she could officially control exactly when her quirk got activated now. What she could make people see was still....iffy.
She'd already made Bakugo see himself being killed by the slime villain, seen his dog from his childhood being ran over, and lastly, on a day Akari was mad with Izuku for ignoring her had seen the green haired boy cutting open his own stomach with a sickening grin on his face. This one was the only one that had shaken him and he was sure he knew why. This specific moment had the usually sweet boy laughing madly, smiling like Joker and slamming the large knife into his stomach while saying "Kacchan....why did you have to be so mean now look what you've made me do~". He couldn't understand why this had shaken him up so much.

After months of this odd training exchange between the two and Izuku's sudden absence from the quiet girl it was finally time for the UA entrance exams. Akari had studied so hard the night before and it showed. She was clearly exhausted. She held a hot coffee in her hand, a large burn showing on part of her chest and neck from her uncle this morning. Sadly this was the second cup she had made this morning as her uncle had gotten angry and poured her first cup on her effectively burning her.
Akari walked towards UA hearing slight panting and heavy foot fall somewhere behind her. She turned her head and saw, none other then one Izuku Midoriya running towards her. Akari quickly covered her neck and kept walking. "Hey!! Akari-chan wait up!" At this she stopped walking and waited for the other a little curios as to why now he wanted to talk to her. "Hey Izuku..." Akari's voice came out a little cold as she spoke to him. Izuku knew something was wrong but wasn't quite sure what was so he talked carefully "um...im sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've just been doing a lot of training. um...ya know being q-quirkless and all I had to train extra hard but um...something kind of happened over the past couple months a-and...." his voice got lower and lower as he began to mumble some making the girl both smile a little at having the only Izuku back and roll her eyes in annoyance as he continued. "Izu...you're mumbling again. What happened?" Akari glanced over at him flashing a small smile, this made him relax some and smile back "well..." he paused for a moment debating weather to tell her the truth or lie like All Might had told him, after a moment he went with the lie. "my quirk developed so I've been having to t-train it and that's why I've been distant and I'm very sorry about that Akari-chan."
This made Akari stop walking completely which in turn made the green haired boy stop and turn towards her wondering if she had caught onto the lie making him panic a little. "Izu! that's amazing I'm so happy for you! is it a good quirk? powerful? or....or is it a mutation like mine...?" Akari really hoped it was nothing like hers as she didn't want her only friend to have to deal with something as horrible as she had to. "O-oh no no no! its actually pretty cool! ill have to show you later after the exams! its really powerful! and it is a mutation but n-not like yours..." Izuku lowered his voice a little and spoke softer not wanting to rub it in the poor girls face. "U-um...I mean it's a mutation like its nothing like my mothers or my fathers..."
Akari smiled knowing he meant no ill will. she nodded softly in understanding and continued walking "well I'm very glad its not like my horrid quirk and now hopefully you'll have an easier time getting in! not like they'd be able to deny someone like you anyways!"

Akari sighed pushing the paper and pencil away as she stretched a little finishing the written part of the exam. This was the easy part in her mind, she had no idea what the practical part of the exam would be so she had no idea if she'd be able to excel at it or not. Akari saw some man stand at the front of the room his hair looooong and blonde some weird speaker around his neck. He said his name was Present Mic and began to explain how the practical would happen. As he explain Akari's heart dropped. The practical was against robots, and her quirk only affected living things.
Akari looked over at Izuku in fear but saw he was simply muttering about something under his breath. She went to shake him but jumped slightly when someone a row behind them stood up and began yelling a question at the teacher as the front of the room then directed his attention to the green haired boy. This made the blue haired girl shrink a little not wanting attention on herself. All Akari knew was this was not going to go well and she was defiantly going to fail.

Akari laid there on the ground in immense pain. She was pretty sure her wrist was broken and her ankle twisted. Akari had been correct in her assumption that she would fail. She couldn't use her quirk on the stupid hunks of metal and most of her training with Katsuki was quirk training not much physical training so physically she couldn't do anything against the robots. Akari sighed sitting on the ground trying to figure out how she was going to get up with a twisted ankle. "Are you alright dearie? Do you need medical attention?" Akari turned her head looking at the short older lady who was addressing her. Akari nodded her head gently "yes. I think my wrist is broken and my ankle twisted. I can't walk." The old lady nodded her head gently and kissed the navy haired girl on the cheek making the girls cheeks go bright red in embarrassment. "There we go! All healed up!" Akari almost asked what she meant when she felt no pain in her ankle, wrist or where the burn was on her neck however she felt exhausted as though she had used her quirk for a prolonged period of time.
"Wow! Thank you so much...but why am I so tired?" Akari looked at the older woman for an explanation and soon got one. "Oh my quirk stimulates your body's ability to heal! But it takes stamina to use so be careful dearie!" she began shuffling away to heal the others as Akari nodded softly in understanding. After a few more moments of sitting on the ground she slowly got up being careful to not push herself knowing she was only moments away from passing out from both trying to use her quirk in the exam and being healed. Akari made her way to the gates of UA feeling defeated. She waited for Izuku to come and after about ten minutes he appeared.
"Hey Akari-Chan! How'd you do?" he asked looking just as exhausted as her. "Oh....I couldn't get a single robot....my quirk only works on living things and I didn't train up physically so I'm pretty sure I failed...." Akari said voice very dejected "Oh...ya I didn't get a single robot either...but I did save a girl and break the zero point robot. other then that I didn't get a single point" now Izuku's voice sounded just as somber as her own. "Oh no! Izu!....they must have some other way to grade this. You probably got points for saving that girl!" Akari tried to sound happier for him to cheer him up as the forest green haired boy shrugged. They began walking back to their apartment complex slowly, both beyond tired at this point. "Hey Izu you wanna go get ice cream before we go home?" Akari looked at the male as he gave a small nod in response. They both turned and began heading towards the nearest ice cream shop.
