Magical City...

With the Lightborn and VENOM squads departed to Runeterra, Zilong has already sent letters of summoning among his team so they could also go to the Enchanted Forest. With only one team, he decides to divide the members to maximize what they can do.

Lylia, who is currently in the Vance household, feels like she'd blow up at any time as she speaks with Mrs. Vance. Other than the fact that she is inside the Vance mansion, the longstanding family of magicians, she is getting pretty nervous in trying to keep up with Harley's mom.

"Aside from Nana, the female Leonin, Harley never brought any girl home. So I was wondering if you, black magician, had done something to manipulate my son?"

That question caught Lylia off-guard. She shivers in nervousness, unable to respond to her question. Will she believe her if she tells the truth? Or will she accuse her to exile her from Magical City? Those questions swirl inside Lylia's mind that her tongue backs out and decides to keep quiet instead.

Mrs. Vance is still looking at her with a smile and she couldn't tell what she is exactly thinking. However, whatever she is planning, all Lylia knows is that she is in a rather bad position at the moment. If she responds to her, she might say something that would offend her and that is the last thing she wants to happen. She doesn't want to leave Magical City, and she doesn't want to leave Harley's side especially that he is now trusting her.

"You know, Harley may seem to act all mature but he is still a child, the same goes for you," Mrs. Vance states. Her teacup clinks against the porcelain saucer as she puts it down and once again looks at Lylia.

"However, age doesn't matter when it comes to showing your trust and support for each other. Harley is a pompous kid since he is spoiled for being the only child we have. After he witnessed the fight I had with his father, he somehow grew apart from us."

Such a story is supposed to be kept from strangers, that is what Lylia thinks since the topic is a bit sensitive and personal. Still, she continues to listen with the hope that she'll come to know more and understand Harley in a deeper sense.

"After his return from the Enchanted Forest, he looked like he changed in a lot of ways. As his mother, it was a good change but unable to witness how he became like that was heartbreaking."

Mrs. Vance, this time, smiles sadly and Lylia could see how lonely she feels. Wanting to comfort her even just for a little, she gathers her courage and speaks up.

"Ha-Harley is a great guy!"

She paused for a while before looking at Mrs. Vance straight in the eyes to show how sincere she is.

"He may be arrogant but he looks after other people, though he doesn't make that obvious. A-Actually, when we first met in the forest, we were enemies but despite that, he didn't kill me and even brought me along with him. H-He saved me so in return, I will also support him in whatever ways I can. S-So, please, Mrs. Vance, don't make a sad face because Harley will be alright."

"Yes, you are right."

Lylia, whose heart is still beating fast, grabs her teacup and gulps the tea in one go.

"Lylia, it may be greedy of me to ask you of this, but please do not leave Harley's side. He doesn't have many friends but even if only one remains by his side, I am more than happy with that," Mrs. Vance states before taking her leave.

Lylia watches her back until she is out of sight. She looked up to the grand staircase that led to the second floor of the mansion as she bites her lower lip. Lylia swears to herself that she'll keep Mrs. Vance's request until her very last breath. A mother like her would truly be hurt to watch her only son leave home once again and venture into a dangerous place.
