Alma: Mom, stop it!
Mother: Hush child!

(She then shoots Raine's left arm. Raine screams in pain.)

Alma: I said stop it!
Mother: Why are you defending this...this thing!?

(She points the gun to Raine's face. Raine keeps a straight face and stares her mother in the eyes.)

Mother: This law was such a blessing for me. For a long time now, our bloodline has been tainted with filthy blood. I feared ever since I was a child that our family would birth such a creature. And prayed it wouldn't happen. I was incredibly taken back that I birthed such a disgusting beast. And now, I get to legally erase you from our life...Actually, no.
Raine: No?
Mother: I shouldn't. I can't kill you. What in the world was I thinking? It just wouldn't be right.
Raine: Mom, I-.
Mother: Alma will do it.
Alma: What!? No I will not!

(Their mother hands Alma the gun and guides her hands to point it at Raine.)

Alma: No! Don't make me do this!
Mother: It's easy honey. Look, you do it like this.

(Her mother guides her finger to pull the trigger and shoots Raine in her rib area. Raine only grunts in pain this time.)

Alma: I'm sorry Raine! I wasn't trying to!
Mother: Don't apologize to her! Just shoot her again!
Alma: No!
Mother: Now Alma!
Alma: *Crying* I don't...I don't want to do this. She's my sister. Your daughter! Why can't you accept that!?
Mother: Fine, I will do it myself after all!

(She yanks the gun from Alma.)

Mother: Useless and disobedient. We will have a talk later. But first!

(Alma tries to get the gun back. They struggle to the ground with Alma hitting her mother repeatedly and her mother trying to shove Alma away.)

Mother: That's it young lady, you're-!

(A gunshot pops off. Raine's eyes widened as well as her mother's. Alma covers her gut as blood starts to saturate her clothes. Alma begins to drag herself away from her mother with her free hand.)

Mother: Baby I'm so-.
Raine: *Angrily shouts*

(Their mother turns to see Raine rushing towards her in a blind fury. In fear, her mother reacts by trying to aim the gun as she steps back. But she didn't realize Alma was sticking her foot behind her and she trips onto the ground. Raine then kicks her mother in the gut hard enough to lift her a few feet into the air. She quickly uses penetrating palms to fill parts of her mother's body with water, mainly vital organs. And in the last stretch of her rage, she gestures her hands and manipulates the water within her mother to expand and burst. Raining water, blood, and flesh to the ground.)

Alma: R-Raine...M-Mom...
Raine: Shhhh, she won't be a problem anymore. You're going to be alright. Just rest, ok?

(Raine pulls Alma close to her and they both slowly pass out.)

-------------------------------

(Trey is limping through the forest on Mt. Lemmon. His leg has a rather heavy gunshot wound and he is getting tired by the second.)

Trey: (What the heck is going on?? Why is this happening??)
Micheal: Trey?

(Trey looks over to see Micheal and Avacyn at a makeshift campsite.)

Avacyn: You're alive! I'm so glad!
Trey: So you escaped...here...

(Trey passes out. Some time later he wakes up bandaged, and Avacyn is sitting next to him.)

Avacyn: He's awake Micheal!
Micheal: That was a pretty serious wound, Trey. Luckily for you I could fix it. You won't be impeded.
Avacyn: Who shot you?
Trey: My father.
Avacyn: ...Oh. My parents just fled. Left me behind actually. (And I can't blame them.)
Micheal: Mine refused to kill me. Wound up getting killed for it though. Me and Avacyn happened to cross paths at the hospital. We then came across Raine and Alma-.
Trey: How are they!?
Micheal: Relax. Raine took several bullets and Alma had a bullet in her gut. Luckily the humans around thought they were already dead when we found them and I was able to fix them up when we got here. I've made a bio-metal alloy to help replace what's lost on the body and/or help repair wounds if the wound isn't too deep. To which it will degrade safely in the body. It's the same for your leg as well.
Trey: Seriously, what can't you do with your metal?
Micheal: You now see some of the fruits of my labor. We fled here because the humans all left to the city and so far none have come back.
Trey: I see.
Micheal: This act, this law...I am incredibly pissed.
Avacyn: It's terrible.
Trey: That governor. He will pay! We haven't done anything wrong! We just lived out our lives like everyone else!
Micheal: Apparently it's not just the U.S. either.
Trey: Seriously?
Avacyn: But what can we do? It's the government that caused this. No way we can fight them...right?
Micheal: She may be right. If it's every country in the world, all governments are involved. It's literally us against the world now.
Trey: Now? It's always been us against the world. Even if it was more passive until now. They fear us and hate us. I don't know about you guys, but at this point, I'm gonna give them a reason to.
Micheal: You want to provoke them?
Trey: Provoke?? You're supposed to be smart. They poked the bear first. We aren't pushovers and now they gave us every reason to retaliate.
Micheal: You think every person like us is thinking that?
Trey: I don't care if they are or not. I'm not letting this slide!
Micheal: How about you stop and think for a second instead of barreling your head into a situation you haven't even thought through.
Trey: Not thought through? Oh I've thought about it. Thought about what I would do if this were to happen.
Micheal: And?
Trey: I will fight them head on.
Micheal: That's what I was just talking about. You can't handle this situation by exploding everything!
Trey: Why not!?
Micheal: You will be killed.
Trey: There's no other way!
Micheal: There's a smarter way.
Trey: Oh now there is!? You just agreed that they can't be fought!
Micheal: I'm not going to let my best friend kill himself!!!
Trey: ....Tch!
Avacyn: Guys...I think you were a bit too loud.

(Micheal and Trey look over to see Raine has woken up.)

Trey: ...Sorry, Raine.
Raine: It's ok. Alma is still asleep, that's more important to me.
Trey: I hear you were shot...several times. Maybe you should go back to bed.
Raine: No. My dreams are haunting me...My mother dying over and over.
Trey: Was it her who shot you?
Raine: How did you guess?
Trey: Take a guess at who shot me. But if you ask me, you did a service to yourself.
Raine: I can't see it that way. Alma doesn't have a mother anymore. I'm not fit to raise her the way I am-
Alma: I don't need to be raised. I know enough at my age. I'm not ignorant of our world.
Raine: Go back to bed, you need to recover.
Alma: And you don't?
Raine: ...
Alma: Mom made me shoot you. She then shot me. Though that was an accident, she shouldn't have attempted to kill you or bring me into it. I loved mom, but her disdain towards you made her an ugly person. Killing her, as bad as it sounds, was necessary. So you and I could live.
Raine: What about you, Trey?
Trey: The moment my father decided to shoot, he chose to aim for my leg instead. In my surprise, he said to me "I know how it feels to be someone like you. In the end, I can't do it. This isn't a sacrifice for your sake. We wish to live as well. And I will try my best to make sure the rest of us aren't punished for my actions against this heinous law. Now, go."
Alma: He knows what it's like? In what way?
Trey: Beats me. I worry for them, but that's not our concern now.
Avacyn: What is it now?

(Trey looks Micheal in the eyes.)

Trey: We are gonna fight back. In any way possible.
