Panchaali groaned, blinking her eyes open, her head hurt, like someone was hammering it with an heavy object, a soft moan passed through her lips gaining the attention of the six brothers as they pulled away from the hug.
"Panchi." Bheem called out, while the six rushed beside her, Nakul and Sehdev sat beside her, their hands reaching for her wrist, while they began checking her vitals.
The cool night wind caressed her hair, she blinked her eyes open, every part of her body thrummed in agony, like someone had beaten the carp out of her. Her heart thrummed in her chest, as anxiety tightened around her heart like a noose, tightening slowly with every second as the memories one after another began to surface her mind.
"Easy love." Arjun cooed, his soft voice, easing the tightening in her chest slightly, while she gazed up at him. Her eyes shined with terror, uncertainty marring her expression, her eyes stung as her throat tightened making it impossible for her to think straight while her mind played the images of the blood.
Her eyes widened, her cousins, her family, where were they? Terror bolted through her heart, making her tremble, what if something happened to them? Oh god please no!
"Where are my cousins? Where is Krishn and Dau?" Panchaali questioned, her eyes focused on the men around her, confusion fluttered through their faces while the man gazed at each other.
Cousins? Krishn? Dau?
Who are these people? What is she talking about? The six men looked at each other sharing confused looks, did she hit her head to hard? Was she in shock?
"What is she talking about?" Nakul whispered, silently gazing at his brothers, who looked back at him just as confused. What was happening?
"I think she is in shock." Whispered Bheem, giving his fiance a sympathizing look. He cupped her cheeks making her look up, "love easy everything is fine." He whispered, his voice soft, trying not to spook her.
Panchaali's heart pummeled in her chest, a feeling of foreboding intensifying her chest. Why weren't they answering her? Where was her family?! "Why aren't you telling me where is my family? Where is Kanha? Where is dau? Where is my grandfather, popi, happy..." Panchaali's hyperventilating words were cut off by Yudhisthir, who cupped her cheek.
"Panchi!" He called a loud, stopping her mid rant, making her look up at him with her doe shaped eyes which were glazed over by terror, tears shining through them.
She couldn't lose her family, no she couldn't. She loved them all way too much to lose them, there was just no way, her heart was restless with agony, the worry for her family driving her crazy.
"Please tell me Where they are? Are they fine? I am begging you, pleaseee." Panchaali cried, breaking down, yes she was probably the bravest girl out there but her family was her everything.
They were what kept her going, she can't lose them too, she had already lost a father, two brothers and she hadn't come up from that trauma, if she lost them now, she would completely shatter.
"Panchaali what are you talking about? Who cousins? Who Krishn? And who is Dau?" Sehdev asked carefully, his eyes gazing at the girl ahead of him, Panchaali's breath left in whoosh, as her heart grew still, she completely froze.
What did he just say? Her breathing picked up, terror coiling in the pit of her stomach, he was joking right? He couldn't be serious, could he? There was no way!
Hot white blinding agony sliced through her, while her hands tightened on his arms, as she gazed at him in the eyes. "So..so you are telling me, you don't know Krishn? You don't know Balram? You..you don't know Tito? Happy? Vin?..." Her voice broke off, while all she saw on the faces of the six men was confusion.
Her heart grew heavy, agony, so much agony tightened in her heart, making her feel like the ache in her was her only reality, her ears buzzed with a loud piercing ringing, memories of her family, their faces buzzed through her mind, moving in her circle.
Her worst fears had become her reality now. This was one thing about time travel, that she had feared from the very start of the journey. Changing the past changed the future. This monsters of Kali Yug had messed with past royally and she was paying the price.
The future had changed, Kaliyug would now be way worse than what it was before this time travel. Krishn had done Mahabharata to save the one percent of Dharma in the Kaliyug, but without Krishn there was no goodness and that one percent of Dharm never existed.
Which meant Kali Yug now had no good people, which in turn meant people like her family members never existed. Her stomach crunched, heaviness settling on her chest. That meant now Kali yug was way worse than what she had known.
But what confused her more was, than how did she still exist? How come she was still here? It's not like she was born in Dvapar hence she was alive, she was born and brought up in Kali Yug, than why didn't she extinguish?
The future was now way worse than what she had known as, time travel was no joke, than what people loved to believe. That they could just walk in the past without it having an effect on future, she wished it was that simple, but it wasn't.
Her life was the biggest example of that.
Her family had extinguished in thin air, because those monsters messed with the past. But how did they manage to sneak past the shields that she had established.
Agony thrummed through her heart, she felt like she was breaking from within, tears tracing down her cheeks, while cries left her mouth, she wept mourning for a family that she had lost, she wept for all those lives of future and present that were destroyed.
Her heart yearned for her family, while she cried, her painful howls piercing through the heart of the six men.
"Love why are you crying?" Bheem cooed, hugging her close to his heart, rubbing her back in a soothing manner, he wasn't able to understand why suddenly she was breaking apart in his arms, his heart burned with an intense ache.
He didn't know the reason for her agony, but it was clawing him from within, making him lose his mind, her each agonised cry tore his heart in even finer pieces.
"Easy sweetheart, calm down love." Sehdev hugged her from the other side, pulling her even closer, running his fingers through her hair, while she wept her heart out, her devastated cries making his heart bleed, making his soul cry in agony.
"What is wrong? If you don't tell me, how am I to fix it." Nakul whispered, begging her to open up to him, her tears were burning his heart like acid, he wanted to hold her close, make her forget all about everything, make her his soul, to cuddle her till she was fine and smiling back.
Arjun gazed at her with concern, her each cry tugging at his heart sharper than the previous one, the terror and mourning that he could hear in her cries was slowly killing him from within.
Yudhisthir's calmness disappeared, his heart grew heavy in his chest, like the weight of the world had settled on it, a tear tracked down his cheek, he wanted to take away every last of her pain but she was not sharing what was wrong.
And he didn't know what was wrong with her, and he didn't know how to fix her, how to stop those cries, how to make her smile the way she once did.
Karn gazed at the woman that he had met awhile back, the happy and excited, while now she was breaking apart, and it was killing him from within.
He hardly knew anything about her, confusion filled him, shock filled him as his hands touched his cheek, feeling the wetness on them. Shock filled him, as he gazed at his hand, tears?
Why was he crying? Why did the pain of a stranger affecting him so much? Why was he feeling the pain of a girl that he hardly knew? Why was he feeling the sadness? Why was his heart growing so heavy for a girl?
Panchaali wept, she wanted to talk, but what shall she tell them that she was mourning for a family that no one remembered? Pain overpowered all her senses, while she breathed in, trying to ease it, memories ran through her mind, one after another before she lost her consciousness.
