Swamps and Paris

"What movie?" Riker asked, plopping down on his bed with his feet where his head is supposed to be and his upper body at the edge of the bed.

"Something funny" You said, laying next to him.

"A rom-com?" He asked.

"Eh" You sighed.

"Shrek?" He asked.

"I've never seen it, so sure" You shrugged.

"It's a great rom-com" He smiled.

"If you say so" You laughed.

About fifteen minutes into the movie you got a little curious.

"Riker?"

"Hm?"

"This is a movie about an ogre"

"Yeah?"

"Does the ogre fall in love with the donkey?"

"No, he falls in love with Fiona, duh!"

"Oh no, my bad"

You two watched in silence for a while, then the Lord Farquad came on.

"Wait, I thought you said she falls in love with the Ogre"

"She does"

"She's about to marry the annoying pervert looking guy"

"Just watch the movie"

"Fine"

You watched in confusion until the ending.

"How was that a rom-com?" You asked.

"It was funny, and the two characters had a romance" He said, answering your question in a tone that sounded like he solved a math problem.

"But-"

"No buts, it's a rom-com"

"Okay then"

Then you heard a knock on the door.

"Riker? It's Gunian" You heard Gunian say through the door.

You and Riker looked at each other and sprung up so it didn't look like you two were hanging out. Well, it did but you didn't think it did.

"Come in" Riker said.

"It's my birthday tomorrow, and we're all going to have a shore leave to celebrate it tomorrow night" She said.

"I didn't get a shore leave!" Riker said, crossing his arms in disappointment.

"Did you ask?" Gunian raises her eyebrow.

"No" Riker sighed.

"There you go" Gunian laughed "And y/n?" She said, peeking over the wall you were hiding behind "You can come too"

You nodded, in embarrassment.

"We'll be there" Riker smiled.

"Alright, see you then, or probably sooner" She smiled back, closing the door.

"Were they in there?" Picard asked, next to Data and Beverly, they were waiting for Gunian to come back with drama about you and Riker.

"They were, but she tried hiding" Gunian chuckled.

"Do they really think we're that dumb?" Beverly asked.

"I think they do" Gunian answered, nodding.

"Why'd you hide?" Riker asked, laughing but he sounded kind of hurt.

"Well I don't want people knowing.." You laughed back.
