Valentines Day

It has been two days since you started believing Data's feelings for you were nothing, and you and Riker had made small talk twice since he told you he loved you. It's funny, you thought, how people can be in your life one day and have no place in it the next.

"Commander?" Data asked, coming into the women's bathroom while you were washing your hands.

"Data! What the heck?!?!" You shouted/laughed, pushing him outside.

"I would like to know if you are doing anything tonight, for I could make a holodeck program, a carnival" Data explained.

"I'm not doing anything, no, but I'll have to get back to you on that whole thing" You laughed, nervously.

"I understand" He said before walking away, then he paused "I am not asking you on a date, commander" He said, before walking away again.

As he was making his way down the hall Geordi stopped him.

"What happened? Why would you go in the women's restroom?" Geordi asked, whisper shouting.

"I asked her to go to the carnival with me tonight" Data informed him.

"Data!" Geordi shouted.

"Yes?" Data asked, confused.

"Tonight is Valentines Day!" Geordi said, playfully punching Data's chest.

"Yes, I am aware" Data said.

Geordi paused for a minute before yanking him into a maintenance closet. Data didn't say anything, though he questioned Geordi's actions.

"Did you ask her on a date?" Geordi gasped.

"No, I corrected her thinking" Data explained.

"Meaning?" Geordi asked.

"I told her it wasn't a date" Data said.

Geordi started laughing and Data raised an eyebrow.

"Oh man, Data, you really fucked up" Geordi laughed.

"I am sorry?" Data asked, confused at why his friend was laughing so hard.

"Why would you say it wasn't a date?" Geordi asked.

"She thought it was" Data explained.

Geordi smacked his forehead.

"Even if she did, she still might've said yes and then you two would have a date and if she didn't already think it was a date then you probably came off as a cocky guy!" Geordi explained, raising his voice but not yelling "But a date with her is..what you want..right?" Geordi asked.

Data looked like he was going to choke.

"No" He said, quickly and quietly.

"Bull-" Geordi began to smile.

"Please, do not finish that" Data interrupted.

Meanwhile, as you were walking to the bridge you got stopped by the one and only; William Riker.

"Commander?" You asked.

"I never did thank you for the other night" Riker said, scratching the back of his head.

"You have, about four times now" You corrected him.

He chuckled nervously.

"Right.." He said, like he had something to say.

"Are you doing anything tonight? I was maybe thinking-" You started to ask.

"I have plans with Deanna, so that's fun" He interrupted you.
