Family

"I'm not marrying you" Said Shawn as he walked into Camila's hospital room, a bunch of long stemmed sunflowers gripped in his hands to try and disguise the fact he was shaking so much.

He had stopped off at Roozhans house before heading to see Camila and had showered and cleaned up his fists as best he could. She would know what had happened, there was no getting away from it but hopefully she would understand why

"I'm glad you said that" she replied, her normally confident voice quiet and filled with emotion "Because there's no way in hell I would marry any guy that gets an 18 year old girl pregnant" she laughed brightly and took the flowers from him, frowning at his hands that were wrapped in bandages but choosing to focus on the more important stuff at hand "Here I thought it was your new cologne that was making me queasy and all the time I was growing a mini you inside of me"

"A mini me if we're lucky cos I don't think the world is ready to deal with another mini you" this time they both laughed as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head "We're keeping it?" he asked the question knowing the answer

"We're keeping it" she confirmed and he smiled into her hair

"I can feel you smiling"

"I can feel my heart growing, isn't that crazy? "

"My dad's gonna want to cut your balls off, you do know that right?"

"Well it's a good job I spawned another Mendes before he got the chance to castrate me then"

Sliding up onto the bed Shawn snaked his arm around her narrow shoulders as she snuggled in to his side

"When I saw you..."

"Im fine. Is Jacob?" Shawn just shook his head in silence and took her fingers inbetween his own "He's being treated downstairs"

"Did you hurt him that badly?!" her face looked terrified as she looked up at him, awaiting his reply

"He's um... He in a um, psych ward right now. I messed him up pretty bad but his heads messed up a hell of a lot worse. My mom's on her way to sign for him, no doubt this will all be my fault by morning"

"Baby, your mom doesn't matter anymore. You have a family all of your own now and we need you so much... I need you" She lifted their interlaced fingers and kissed the back of his hand.

"My own family... Wow. That sounds..."

"A lot?"

"It sounds amazing but yeah, it's a lot. You know there is one regret that I kind of have, about us and our relationship" Camila's eyebrows lowered as her lips pouted outwards and he couldn't help but place a kiss to them. "I regret that I knocked you up before I even got the chance to tell you that I love you"

The words caused Camila's chin to quiver and her eyes to fill

"Because I do...love you I mean. So much, and it's not because you are carrying my child it's because from the very first day I met you you've been carrying my heart. I'm a different person with you in my life" his lips melted against hers as her fingers moved to his hair

"Do you know my one regret?" Camila's voice was laced with a darkness he recognised and he couldn't hold back the smile as he waited for her loaded response "I regret that you can't knock me up again, right here right now" laughing against her cheek Shawn pulled her as close to his side as he could

"One happy accident's enough thank you very much"

"Happy? Are you sure?"

"Very"

"Your mom is gonna be so mad, her son a young, unmarried, college drop out, father-to-be having a baby with a teenage girl"

"She's gonna spontaneously combust with shame" they both laughed and wrapped their arms around each other "So how far along are we?"

"We are 10 weeks along"

"Wow, one of our first times, I always knew my sperm would be super strength"

"I can't believe how well you're taking this"

"Camila, when I saw you lying there..."

"It was a rupture, he grabbed my phone and landed on top of me, he could have hurt our baby Shawn"

"Let's try not to think about that. You're fine, the baby's fine, Jacob's... Well he's getting help so he's going to be okay too"

"How badly did you hurt him?" she asked whilst stroking his bandaged hands

"Pretty bad and Bogdon had got to him earlier. My mother's messed him up so much."

"I hope I dont do that to this little bean" she said whilst rubbing a hand over her perfectly flat stomach

"You could never" Shawn lay his hand on top of hers as they both caressed the skin, an identical smile on both of their faces

"What do you want? A girl or a boy?"

"I want either just as long as they are healthy and look just like you" grinned Shawn, his mind full of a tiny, chubby, red faced version of the girl he loved

"This isn't going to be easy"

"Nothing worth having ever is but believe me you and this baby are so worth it. You're all I want. I know we have so much to talk about, so much to plan and work through but I'm excited for every step of it, every up and every down. I'm going to be there Camila, I promise I'm gonna be the best boyfriend and the best daddy you ever saw"

"I know you are" she kissed his cheek and then his lips, savouring the taste and feel of him, knowing that he meant every word and relishing the fact that she'd ended up with such a good man

"So I guess you're wondering..."

"Wondering what?" his eyebrows knitted together as he chewed the inside of his cheek

"Well you just admitted you were madly, truly, deeply in love with me, obsessed with me actually"

"Yup, that's exactly what I said"

"And I didn't say I felt the same. No doubt its eating you alive wondering if I feel the same or whether we are already in a loveless relationship"

"You can read my mind, it's uncanny"

"And the answer is... Yes. I love you Shawn, I love everything about you, the way you look, the way you speak, the way you smell, the way you taste"

"I knew that already" he laughed "But it's amazing to hear you say it

"We're having a baby Shawny!!"

"I know we are, I can't wait to meet them"

"Me either"

"Thank you so much Camila"

"What for?"

"For giving me the family I never had, not since my dad. It kind of feels like I've come full circle in a way. I had it and lost it and now you've given it back to me again" his eyes filled with tears as Camila's did the same and they dissolved into each other's arms. Not turning to see Alejandro Cabello stalking down the corridor towards them, his face red and his footsteps heavy
