Luke's POV:
Julie walked out of the studio for the night and I could hear her whisper a small "Wow" underneath her breath. I felt the exact same way. I can't believe I can touch her now, it's all just so strange, but amazing. I was trying to figure out what had even happened because everything had been such a whirlwind. And then, I thought back to the Hollywood Ghost Club.
Caleb had just finished his song, and the crowd was cheering. I turned back to Alex and Reggie, hopeful one of them had come up with an idea. As if reading my mind, Alex turned to me and whispered "I have an idea"
Me and Reggie huddled in close and listened to what Alex had to say.
"Okay, so Caleb has us under some spell that attracts us to his music. But, I think that if we can get Julie to start the show at the Orpheum, we could try and focus our best to channel our energy into her and the song, and then the spell could have opposite effects. It could work against Caleb, and not for him." He finished.
"Alex, bro, you're a genius!" Reggie exclaimed, a little too loudly.
"What's going on over here?" Caleb snapped.
"Um, we were just wondering if we could get some food? Ya know an eternity here seems great and all, but we can't do it on an empty stomach." I blurted out as fast as possible. I knew if I didn't say something Reggie would, and that wouldn't have been good.
"Alright. Go to the same table you sat at with Willie and there is food there." Alex flinched hearing Willie's name. "But be back in 5 for our next song." Caleb finished before exiting.
We head over to the table and start constructing our plan.
"Okay, so all we have to do is concentrate while we play, and think about Julie?" Reggie asked.
"Not exactly. We have to make sure she gets on stage first, so we need to send her a sign of some sort." I say. Right as I finish speaking a woman with dark, curly hair slips me and the guys a note.
So you all are the boys who brought my Julie back?
Hi boys I hope you're doing well. I'm Rose, you met me the night you died at the Orpheum. I heard you boys talking about a girl named Julie? I have a daughter named Julie and if you three are the boys I think you are, I can help with your plan. Just please, promise you won't tell her I'm here. Caleb owns my soul, and if she ever tried to save me, he would own hers too. I sent one of the regulars here down to the alleyway to give her a dahlia, that should give her the sign she needs to get on stage. Now all you boys have to do is focus. Do it for my Jules!
Sincerely,
Rose (Julie's Mom)
We all looked up as we saw Rose walk back to the stage, only to be poofed away by Caleb.
"Guys! We gotta get on stage now! She already sent the dahlia. Julie could be on stage any minute." I said as we all rushed to our instruments.
Caleb poofed in looking surprised. "So excited to play at my club?" He asked suspiciously.
"We thought it over and it actually doesn't seem that bad. Let's rock!" Reggie said quickly grabbing his bass. The guy may be dumb but he knows how to lie.
We start playing as Caleb's awful song starts echoing throughout the club. After a few seconds, I stop hearing the drums. I look over and Alex is gone. It's working! I look over to where Reggie was and he's now gone too. Sadly, Caleb turned around and noticed they poofed out. He grabbed me and held me tightly, it was like I was under some sort of spell. I focused, and I started to hear Julie's voice. I kept flickering between the Hollywood Ghost Club and the Orpheum, until I heard Rose's voice in my head. "Do it for my Jules!"
"Do it for Jules." I said, and with that, I was on stage at the Orpheum, singing Stand Tall with her. Everything felt as it should be.
"LUKE!" Reggie screams snapping me out of my trance.
"Huh, wha- what's happening?" I ask frightened.
"Man I think you need some sleep. Let's continue this conversation in the morning." Alex said, and I nodded in agreement.
"He was probably day dreaming about Juuuuulieeeeeee!" Reggie says mockingly. I throw a pillow at him and he falls off the chair he's sitting on.
"Haha I got him good for that one" I think to myself.
"Alright boys, that's enough" Alex says, "bed time. Luke get on the couch and Reggie get on the loft. Now."
"Okay MOM" I say, grabbing the pillow from the ground and putting it under my head. I sigh, staring at the nearby wall. Saying it's been a long night would be a big fat understatement. After almost dying a second time, being saved by Julie (I still don't understand how that happened), and finding out that Julie's mom is trapped in the Hollywood Ghost Club...I take in a sharp breath. I don't know how I'm going to tell Julie- or even if I'm going to tell her at all. Rose obviously doesn't want her to get trapped, and neither do I, but... if Julie knew where her mother was, she'd go rushing in headfirst without listening to Alex, Reggie and I. I shake my head. I decide I'm not going to focus on that right now. I think back to the hug and my eyelids droop as a smile spreads across my face. I fall asleep thinking about the amazing night I had, and how I finally got to hug Julie for the first time.
