Ruby was staring into the eyes of the girl she was once with. Dating, in love, however you want to say it. It had been some time since she'd seen her, and looking into her eyes now the blond Nephilim could tell there was something being hidden from her.
Ruby looked to her side, slightly behind her where a girl she had decided to casually date stood scared out of her mind. The dyed redhead looked between Ruby and the mysterious girl that magically showed up. This girl in particular had no idea what was going on for she was completely human. Ruby sighed, eyes looking forward with a newfound sense of hatred. Her ex couldn't leave her alone even after all this time.
But Ruby knew deep down her ex wasn't the one to blame, it was her family.
Sunset Jinx, from a long line of witches that had been forever loyal to Ruby's family. Ruby hadn't known it at the time when she met Sunset, that she was sent to her by her parents- no, parent. To keep her safe is the excuse they used, but Ruby knew better. Never in her life had she faced such a betrayal worse than that one. She had fallen in love with the witch, given her heart, and expected nothing in return. Of course, this was her own fault for trusting anyone. But now she knew, no one could be trusted in this lifetime.
"It's time to come home, Red."
Red. The nickname was given to her by her mentors during training. Because it was all that was left after her training, blood, red, everywhere.
Ruby sighed, "I won't. I will never go back!"
The blonde-haired Nephilim turned to the redhead behind her and smiled gently, placing a chaste kiss on the same plump lips she had been kissing for over three months now.
"Sorry about this, really."
The brown-eyed girl took a step back in shock, fear coursing through her body as she saw the once patient and caring girl before her turn into something she'd never have been able to imagine. The girl had begun to fall in love with Ruby despite the constant warnings not to.
"Wh- What... are y- you?"
Ruby's normal warming blue eyes had become completely engulfed in a white, almost glowing in the nightly mist the three girls stood in. Ruby bit her red lipstick wearing bottom lip, the signature red lipstick she'd decided to wear to go with her nickname.
It was then that the blonde's entire aura changed.
She was no longer human, no longer hiding who and what she truly was. She turned back to Sunset, the girl she was still semi in love with, and the girl who also broke her heart in more ways than one.
