02.

Ruby walked alongside her two best friends as they were hauled off from the mansion into a limo that would take them to the airport. A private jet would pick them up and take them to the airport in Virginia.
Of course, the three could've easily been portaled to their new school, but Ruby wanted all the time she could get to herself. She wanted to just pretend she was on an airplane that was taking her on a vacation she would enjoy and not her new imprisonment.

The Nephilim stared out the small window of the plane, eyes strained as they looked out at the vast sky where the sun was slowly rising in the sky. It was beautiful, the different shades of purple and pink surrounding the bright yellow sun in the middle of the sky.

Ruby felt happy for that single instance, smiling as she closed her eyes and remembered when she was younger and would sit atop the mansion watching the sun rise and fall every day.

"Hey, Rubes?"

Ruby's head swiveled to look at Iris, who was staring nervously down at her hands in her lap. She sat across from a sleeping Hugo who snored lightly, filling the air with sound. "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry I let them get you like that. I- I wish there was a different way."

Ruby shook her head, "No, I understand. I saw the way Michael spoke to you too, and the way you responded. He probably found a way to blackmail you both, didn't he?"
Iris sniffed lowly, bottom lip quivering. She looked up with big brown doe eyes that made Ruby feel like her chest would shatter. Ruby's eyes were glassy as she looked at Iris, shaking her head as she moved to kneel in front of the witch and placed her hands on top of hers.

"You don't have to be sorry, Ayame. Don't ever be sorry. What did he do?"

Iris let her eyes look up and meet Ruby's in a gentle yet weary gaze. The witch bit her bottom lip as she glanced past the Nephilim to the sleeping werewolf in front of them.

"He said he'd wipe us from existence. Make everyone we ever loved forget us. He- He- Oh, Ruby!" Iris choked on a small sob as she threw her arms around Ruby's neck and hugged her. Ruby quickly stood up in the hug, hugging her back and slipping onto the witch's lap comfortably.

As they sat there, Iris sniffling into her chest, Ruby raked her fingers through the witch's hair. Hugo suddenly woke up to the sight that made him feel distraught. As quickly as he could, without even thinking twice, the werewolf threw himself at the two girls immediately.
With his strength, he picked them both up and pulled them into his own lap in the seat beside Iris's original seat. He rubbed both of their backs sadly just from the feeling of vulnerability that hung throughout the air. "You told her..?"
