"Now how in my uncle's hell did they find a spell to actually take me down?"

Iris and Hugo looked at each other wearily, not sure how to answer their best friend. They both knew the Jinx witches had been trying to find a way to subdue the younger Sullivan nephilim for what felt like ages now.
No spell could take her down until now, with the help of Emerald Sullivan of course. She let the witches test their spells on her until she was completely knocked out. If their spells could knock her out, then it was enough to take down Ruby as well.

Iris bit her lip nervously before throwing herself at the nephilim and hugging her tightly. Mostly out of love and the fact that she deeply missed her, and a tiny bit of guilt because she hadn't told her best friend they were even working on such a spell.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but Rubes, I was worried. You were supposed to be back after a month, not four."

Ruby scoffed lightly, patting the witch's small and frail looking back.

"I know. I'm sorry. I should've called or something."

Hugo scooted into the two's hug, inputing himself into it and hugging both of them into his warm embrace. The werewolf purred again, nuzzling into the nephilim's hair.
The three of them were a pack, and for four months they had been separated. Hugo was the only werewolf in the pack and not the alpha. That position was for Ruby, a true leader.

"Yeah, you should've. We missed you."

Ruby nodded sadly, guilt climbing into her body and mind making her feel all the more badly about not having been here for the werewolf. She knew his past left him scarred and abandoned before herself and Iris found themselves in his life. His scars from his previous family and relationship left him sensitive, vulnerable, and clingy to the point where it would be annoying if you didn't understand why.

"I know... I know... I'm sorry Juice."

The werewolf growled lowly in his throat but was quickly silenced as the two girls threw themselves on top of the pouting wolf. All three giggled along with the other, sighing as they rested back onto the bed.

"So... the elephant in the mansion... Is he... Is he really here?"

The three best friends were all laid out on the bed on their backs staring up at the white ceiling of the room. Ruby had her hands interlocked with both the witch and werewolf out of anxiety, almost shivering to the point that it was noticeable.

You see, Ruby Sullivan had a very complicated relationship with her parents. Her mother was a born witch, a very powerful witch. Which is how she was able to birth both Ruby and her older sister. Her father on the other hand, was the most powerful archangel, Michael.
Emerald's dad was Gabriel, Michael's younger brother and the second most powerful archangel. Emerald was a trial run to see if nephilims could be born. Her birth was only to ensure that one would be born of angelic power and not the ancestral power from their mother.
