IT WAS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING and Zuri had let Embry know what was going on. She told him she would be back Monday and that he can tell them where she was after he dropped her off. The duo were on the way to the airport in silence."You know your brothers aren't going to like this right?" Embry questioned the girl.
"She's my mom. I know my brothers and my dad want nothing to do with her so someone has to." She sighed.
"Are you going to be safe there. I mean considering everything going on?" Embry asked in concern.
"Yeah. I'm staying with a friend. I'm not stepping foot into that house ever again." Zuri laughed.
She than became serious again. "I appreciate you again for the ride and probably taking a bunch a heat from my family." Zuri tells him as the pull up the the airport.
"No problem." He stated getting her bag out of the trunk.
"Well i'll see you Monday at 5:00. If you're still alive." Zuri joked.
"Hahaha." Embry stated. He kissed her cheek.
"Have a safe flight and let me know you made it safely." He yelled as she walked into the airport. She turned and him and nodded smiling.
Going through the airport was a breeze for Zuri. She made it through security under 10 minutes and even had enough time to get some breakfast before her flight. Sitting at the gate she was skeptical about the whole thing. Was her mom setting her up just to come back home? Or did she really need to testify in court? These questions rolled through her head until she heard the boarding call.
Back at the Thompson residence, everyone was waking up from sleeping in except Miranda and Sean. They were downstairs doing their normal Saturday morning routine. Coffee and Tv. Around 9:30 she decided to get up and make breakfast for the boys. Sean helped by whisking the eggs and putting the bacon on the tray. Miranda also decided to make Zuri's favorite pancakes. Banana and Nutella. The boys came downstairs smelling the food.
"Smells good mom." Xavier stated. Zac nodded in agreement.
"Boys can you set the table please." She stated pointing the silverware and glasses.
"ZURI. Breakfast!" Sean yelled upstairs.
"Dad. Zuri listens to music when she goes to sleep. She probably didn't hear you." Zac informed his father.
"I'll go wake her up." Xavier stated. Heading up the stairs he stops at her door knocking first.
"Zuri. Breakfast is ready. I'll eat your pancakes if you don't come!" Xavier yelled. He waited then huffed opening the door. His mouth was open when he saw the made up bed and folded clothes on the side.
"What the hell?" He stated aloud.
"Dad. She's not here." Xavier panicked running down the steps.
Sean had put his coffee down. "What do you mean she's not here?" He asked his son.
"Her bed is made up. She's gone." Xavier answered. The Thompsons looked at each other and headed to Sam's.
AT SAM AND EMILY'S, everyone was around the table trying to figure things out. Paul was on edge as no one knew where his imprint went.
"Maybe the three stooges know." Jared joked.
"Call them." Sam commanded seeing his friend panic about his daughter.
Sean paced back and forth waiting for the other line to pick up.
"Dad. We'll find her." Zac stated calming his dad down. Sean sighed nodding trying to relax.
