"ALL PASSENGERS PLEASE lift all table trays up, sit the seats up straight and put all laptops away as we begin landing." Zuri heard the flight attendant say over the intercom.Having the window seat she looked out the window to see nothing but clouds and rain. She groaned mentally as she wasn't used to this kind of weather. As the plane landed she grabbed her bag from under the seat and headed up the ramp to the gate. She headed to baggage claim to get the two suitcases she brought when she saw her older bother Xavier. She ran into his arms as she missed him and hadn't seen him in a while six months.
"Long time little sis." He told her with a smile.
She wiped the tears from her eyes as she was happy to see him.
"Zac didn't come with you?" She asked her brother.
"He couldn't make it. He's not feeling the best." Her brother stated.
Zuri looked at him in confusion as she had just spoken to her twin yesterday and didn't suspect he wasn't feeling well.
"Oh." she stated with disappointment.
Her brother saw her emotion and changed the subject grabbing her suitcases.
"So how was the flight?" He asked with a smile.
"Fine. Long." She stated looking straight ahead.
Xavier saw the disappointment on his sister's face. He hated it.
"Look. I know he was supposed to come but her couldn't make it. Rather him feel better than be out in this weather and get worse right?" He asked her.
She nodded silently as they walked up to his jeep. Zuri was getting ready to help Xavier with the suitcases when she saw him lift both of them in the car. She looked at him in astonishment.
"What do they feed you football players?" She asked him. His deep laugh startled her.
"I'm serious." She stated confused.
"Nothing. Miranda just cooks a lot." Xavier stated mentioning their stepmother.
"Right. Forgot about her." she groaned.
"You don't like her?" Xavier asked his younger sister.
"She hates me. Everytime I come visit it's always, 'oh she had something to do or she couldn't make or she's at work.' She never wants to hang with me." Zuri told her brother annoyed.
"Maybe it was just a coincidence." Xavier shrugged.
"Right. Like the picnic dad and I were supposed to have that she volunteered to make." Zuri ranted.
Her brother looked at her in confusion.
"She made everything we were eating from the sandwiches to dessert and the fruit salad that had mango in it. I'm allergic to mango." Zuri stated.
"Oh I remember that. You were rushed to the hospital." Xavier stated.
"Well. Maybe she didn't know." He defended her looking over to his sister.
"Look. Try to get along with her. Dad loves her a lot." Xavier stated ending the conversation.
The rest of the way "home" Zuri looked out the window taking in the new environment she would call home. She closed her eyes bored of the weather but then soon was tapped by her brother saying that they had made it to the house.
Opening her eyes she gets out the car seeing the beautiful family home.
"I got your suitcases you can head inside. I'm sure dad's waiting to see you." Xavier stated getting out the car opening the trunk.
