Something Is Off

Mal was sitting at the Enchanted Lake with her boyfriend King Ben. It was a beautiful day out, and Mal should be enjoying it, but something was most definitely off this morning; though she could not explain what.

Mal feels a hand on her shoulder and flinches back into reality. Just to notice she had zoned out of the conversation she and Ben were having. She also sees Ben looking at her worriedly

"Mal are you okay you zoned out for a minute? " Ben asked concerned.

" Yeah I am fine I was just thinking about contillion." She lies.

Ben nodded his head before reassuring her, " You will be great Mal; as long as you...

Mal stopped him, " Please stop you are definitely not a good pep talker. " Mal said smiling as she continues to eat the strawberries they brought.

"Let me guess I worry about it being perfect to much?" Ben joked

" Maybe just a tad" Mal laughed, "and that is why I go to Evie for a pep talk and not you."

Ben laughed, " Okay, okay I get it, so how has your day been so far?"

Mal thought for a moment before saying, " Ben I woke up forty five minutes before our date I was pretty much rushing around the whole time making sure I was ready."
Ben looked at her outfit hair and makeup, " Well it looked like you been prepping for hours."

Mal shakes her head, "Evie was she always seems to know when I have something important to do. Even when I do not tell her I have something to do."

Ben smiled, " His girlfriend was still adjusting to the idea of being good, and the idea of being lady of the court. So he was glad Evie was so supportive of her, and was encouraging her. And that made Ben happy. He did realize something this morning though. Evie's smile looked force, but if Mal did not think anything of it than he guess he should not either.

The truth is Mal did notice Evie's smile was a bit forced, but she did not want to worry Ben on their date. She knew she would have to talk to Evie about it later though. Right now she was enjoying her date

Carlos and Jay had just finished their tourney game and won with flying colors, and went back to their hotel room to play a few video games, and rest before the next game,but first Carlos went to text Evie. Texting(Carlos Evie)
Hey E how are you and Mal?

Hey Carlos we are great Mal had a date with Ben, and I have been sewing like crazy. Did you win the game?

Yeah we won the game but we still have two more to go . And I hope you are pacing yourself. I do not want to see you sleeping at your sewing machine when I get back.

I will lol. I promise I will not be sleeping at my sewing machine when you now I have to finish this dress I will talk to you later.😊

Conversation has ended

"Alright now can we play our video game?"Jay asked impatiently

Carlos rolled his eyes at his impatient friend,"Alright, and I will beat you this time."

Jay said playfully, "Oh please. I am the best at this game!"
They started the game having a conversation with one another about dates to contillion.

"So Jay who are you asking to contillion?" Carlos asked curious.

"No one"Jay said simply replied before smirking, "When are you going to ask Evie to be your date for contillion "
Carlos blushed a bit when Jay asked that, " How did you know about that?!

Jay laughed at Carlos' reaction, "How can I not tell... Dude it pretty obvious! You blush and get nervous everytime you get near her!

"Alright I see what you mean, but Jay I can not ask her she already has a boyfriend!" Carlos said glumly

Jay noticed and said, " Los just tell her how you feel. I'm sure she feels the same way. I mean you have been friends since... Well like forever."

Carlos sigh, " I do not know about that. When we were texting today she seemed in a rush."

" Carlos when has she not been in a rush?" Jay asked jokingly

" I know, what I meant is that even over the phone something felt different. I do not know, but something was definitely up!" Carlos says.

Jay looked Carlos in the eye before hitting the controller and winning the video game. "I'm sure you are just worried, how about a rematch before the next tourney game?"

Carlos nodded his head, "You are on, and this time I will win." Carlos said trying to hide his worry. But he could not shake the feeling something was wrong.
