The team is on a case with a sexist deputy. Reader gets in a confrontation with him and Rossi makes sure you're okay.

"Y/n, Dave, you'll head to the station. Morgan,
Prentiss, the crime scenes. JJ I want you going to the victims' houses. Reid, you're with me." Hotch ordered on the jet as it landed. You nodded and glanced at Rossi, who was already looking at you. You looked out of the jet window, trying not to stare at him.

You had always had feelings for him, but he was twice your age. There was no way he was into you and you were okay with it. He was just a stupid crush. You really didn't need people telling you, you had "daddy issues." You knew you did.

Rossi drove the SUV as you sat in the passenger's seat, the case on your lap. You sifted through the pages, trying not to make yourself look stupid.

"You've gone over it several times. Find anything new?" A deep voice rumbled and your head snapped up, meeting warm brown eyes.

"Uh.. What?"

He smiled, "You've flipped through the file three times. What are you looking for?" He questioned casually and you blushed. You still managed to look stupid somehow.

"Uh... nothing. Just.. looking." You wanted to facepalm. Dumbass. What a great answer, y/n.

He chuckled, turning into the police station's parking lot, "Okay." You bit your lip and he parked the car with an amused expression on his face. You couldn't get out of the car fast enough, not wanting to embarrass yourself any further. He was a profiler. A damn good one. He probably knew.

Ignoring your stupidity, you followed after him in the police station. An officer greeted you, shaking Rossi's hand, "Deputy Van. You the feds?" He questioned, looking from Rossi to you. His eyes lingered on you, a hint of disgust in his face. You held your hand out, but he looked back to Rossi and you shrugged. It wasn't the first time local LEO's didn't like the FBI. But he had shaken Rossi's hand?

Rossi pursed his lips, "SSA David Rossi," he gestured to you, "SSA Y/f/n Y/l/n."

Deputy Van gave a slow nod, "Huh." he glanced at you oddly and then back to Rossi, "Thought there'd be more of you. Men." You inhaled deeply, knowing exactly what he meant. He was sexist.

Rossi frowned, displeased. He was a gentleman at heart. He glanced from you to Deputy Van, "We're the first ones here. We have a whole team. Men and women." He emphasized the women. You nodded in agreement, tucking the case file under your arm.

Deputy Van shrugged, "Alright. We have an office set up for y'all," he led the way and Rossi touched your arm gently as he walked by you. It was a gentle gesture to reassure you he'd handle the deputy.

Deputy Van opened a door for the office and you walked in after Rossi. The deputy put his hand in his pockets, "Coffee's over there," he pointed to a section where a small kitchenette was. "feel free to have some. You need anything, just ask me." He didn't look at you once, directing everything to Rossi.

Rossi gave a nod, "Thank you. We're okay for now." Deputy Van shrugged and walked away, closing the door behind him.

Rossi looked to you, "Don't take it to heart."

You chuckled, "Trust me, it's not the first time a man has thought less of me because I'm a woman." You placed the case files on the conference table.

Rossi nodded solemnly, "Aaron isn't going to like him."

You smiled, "No, he's not. Derek or Spence either. Hell- the whole team."
