One-shot based on the dialogue prompt, "You've been trying to deal with this yourself?!" TW: mentions of violence, graphic depictions of injuries.

"You alright, Lil Mama?" Derek questioned as he pulled you up from the ground where you had been battling with the unsub.

You nodded, breathing in deeply, "Yeah, I'm good." You watched Rossi and Hotch handcuff the unsub, pushing him into a police car roughly. You weren't expecting a full-out fight, but you had still held your own excellently. Thank god for Derek's extra training lessons you took for fun.

Derek looked you over quickly, "Okay, you sure?" He could see you favoring your right leg.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Go help Reid with the LEO's." Derek gave you a look, but nodded, leaving you to collect yourself. Your knee hurt pretty bad, but you guessed it was from the tussle. The pain would go away in a bit and you'd be fine. You declined one of the EMT's offer to look you over and walked to a vacant SUV.

Everyone was bustling about, doing their job as you slid into the backseat of one of the team's SUVs. You laid back against the seats, your knee throbbing with pain. You shuffled further back, straightening it out with a grimace.

Your body started to tremble, your adrenaline wearing off. You didn't want to alert anyone, afraid the team would have to call the ambulance back and Hotch would surely scold you. You didn't even want to think about Rossi, he'd be pissed you didn't tell him. After you started a relationship with him, he had been in overprotective mode, making sure you were always safe and cared for. You didn't usually mind until you actually got hurt. Like now.

Your leg was rocketing with pain and you groaned, laying your arms over your face to hide your grimaces. You heard shuffling outside the car, shoes clacking against rocks. Shit, the door was still open and you didn't have any time to sit up and situate yourself normally.

The door opened wider and you could feel the cool autumn breeze flow in, "Y/n, what-" Reid stopped mid-sentence as he saw your shaking body, your body clearly in shock. His eyes widened and he turned to the approaching team members, Hotch and Rossi, the others having already left. "Rossi, y/n, she-" You cursed the young genius, but knew he was only worried.

There was shuffling as Rossi breezed inside the doorway of the car, his eyes settling on your trembling form. Hotch was behind him, eyebrows drawn together in concern and worry. Rossi cursed, "Y/n, where's it hurt?" He stepped up into the SUV doorway, leaning in.

You dropped your arms, swallowing thickly, "I'm fine... can we... go..?" Your words were too far apart to be 'fine.' Rossi muttered something to Hotch and then he was sliding into the car.

Car doors slammed as Hotch and Reid got in the SUV. Their words floated around you, shock set in fully. You cried out when Rossi checked you over- his hand having jostled your knee. He stopped and cursed in Italian, rolling your pants leg up.

Your head popped up, watching him, "Hey, I'm fine, you don't... need to-" he pressed just under your knee and you groaned, your teeth clenching in pain.

You heard Hotch, "We're five minutes from the hospital." He informed as he drove quickly, Reid in the passenger's seat, his hazel eyes sending worried looks back at you.

You gripped Rossi's arm, "I took care of it... it's not bad, David.."

"Not bad?!" Rossi snapped, gesturing to your knee wildly. Your knee cap was popped out, part of the bone starting to break through the skin, "You've been trying to deal with this yourself?!"

You swallowed thickly, "It looks worse than it is..." you mumbled.

Rossi shook his head, "Damn you and your pride," He pulled his blazer off, laying it over you. You shivered, laying your head back. "You're in shock, y/n! Your knee cap is almost popping out of your leg!"

You swallowed down bile, "I didn't know that... that bad...?"

Rossi sighed, knowing you were in pain and shock from everything. He leaned over into your line of vision, "Yes. You need a doctor, piccolo."

Hotch's voice spoke up, "We're almost there. Try to keep her awake, Dave." You flinched at his voice, the sound too loud for some reason. You shivered, gripping Rossi's blazer in your fingertips.

"Reid, your jacket." Rossi ordered and Reid hurriedly took his jacket off. Rossi took it and balled it up, placing it under your injured knee to keep it elevated. "Y/n, tell them about the time I fell asleep in a restaurant." Hotch quirked a brow in the rearview mirror, Reid furrowed his eyebrows and Rossi smirked. He knew the story would keep you awake because you always wanted to tell them.

Your lips quirked up, "Really? You told me... I couldn't.."

"Well, you can now." Rossi murmured, rubbing his thumb over your ankle.

You smiled, "S-So, Dave... having not slept for 48 hours..." you smirked to yourself, "said we should get dinner... I told him he needed to sleep, but we ended up going anyway... Hotch this is like- a high-end restaurant... like pricey as hell..." Hotch grunted to show he was listening as he drove towards the hospital.

You continued, "We've had half a bottle of wine and I look up from my menu to order when the... the... waitress comes over... and not knowing anything started to order... she stopped me and said, 'Miss... your father fell asleep'... and ... I l-looked to David for an answer and....there he was..." you giggled, "his face dropped on the table... snoring softly... c-completely out.... I apologized to the waitress, getting looks from various customers... It was... was hilarious.... he wasn't even embarrassed.. he paid a hefty tip and let me drive his car home.... and god... she called him my-my father...."

Hotch smiled and Reid was trying to contain a laugh. Rossi nodded, "And now when she tells me to rest...I learned my lesson."

You nodded, "Y-yeah... you still c-complain..though...which is...is..." you trailed off and Rossi's eyes flicked to you. You were passed out, body still trembling.

"Aaron." Rossi muttered, telling the man to hurry up with one word. Rossi tried to wake you up, but you were out.

"We're here." Hotch informed as he sped towards the ER entrance.

"Y/n, piccolo, open your eyes for me. Y/n." Rossi slapped your cheek lightly, but you only groaned in response.

Hotch slammed on the brakes in front of the ER, nurses coming out at the commotion. Reid and Hotch jumped out, informing them of the situation.

Your eyelids fluttered open as the backdoors opened, locking eyes with Rossi, "I think this time.... I learned my lesson....bello.."

Rossi smirked, "Damn right."
