Shikamaru and temari have been dating for 4 years and shikamaru wants to propose to her he just never finds the right time. For weeks he's been finding the best time to ask her. He would always bring the the ring just in case there the perfect opportunity when they are on their dates but this date was on of their best one for both of them
Shikamaru pov
Temari and I were just laying on the grass as we look up the bright night sky "this is the last night she'll stay here I need to ask her now" I thought
"The sky looks so pretty tonight doesn't shikamaru?" She said
"Yes they do but I prefer clouds better" i replied
"Of course you do" she said
Then we just stayed quiet. Just the two of us looking at the sky no one wanting the night to end. The moon shining on us
"I heard you are going to be the hokage assistant" she stated
"Well you heard right" I said back
" I'm proud of you who would have thought the laziest person in the whole village will become someone very important to the village I still remember when you were 12 crying over a failed mission the. You father giving you a lecture I remember it like if it were yesterday you sure have change expect you're still lazy"she said
"Thank you I guess you always have to give a compliment and put something bad at the end huh"
" of course" she said with a smile
Then we decided it was time to head back as we were walking hand in hand temari decided to start a conversation " have you ever thought about the future?"
"Some times why?"
"I was just wondering I remember where I was little always wanted to get married I would always go through my parents wedding photos and dream about having a wedding just like theirs after an year or 2 of married have a kid of two and give them a better childhood then I had" she said
" there's my perfect opportunity to ask her" I said to my self
"Temari"
"Hmm"
" how about we make that wedding and your dreams come true marry me and I'll make your dreams come to reality" I said as I grab the sliver ring with a green emerald in the middle of the ring from my pocket As I got down in one knee
She looked at me I could see her eyes getting watery
"Marry me so we can make your dreams come true and grow grey and old together"
I looked at her and said "what do you say?"
"I'm going to say yes!!" She said as she hugged me tightly
"Now that I got your answer how about we start to plan the wedding"
"We'll get the girls help us right?"
They continue walk as they discuss their plans for their wedding.
