Chapter Sixteen - Punished

After the incident at the Charity Concert, Petro made his way to the Schnee Mansion. Upon reaching the mansion, Petro sits down and uses the Force to try and locate Weiss. Upon doing so, he quickly sighs in annoyance. 

Petro: Of course you're at the top. I hate heights....

Petro proceeded to jump over the gate and sneak past the guards. He then begins to scale the Schnee Mansion. Doing so was annoying to Petro as he hated heights. 

Petro: You owe me big for this, Princess!

As Petro climbs, he begins a sudden disturbance in the Force. It was a disturbance that seemed familiar. At first, he thought it was Darth Jadus, but it was clear that it wasn't. As he climbed, he tried to focus on what the disturbance was. As he did, he could see a glimpse of Katooni and could see that she was in some sort of pain. Upon sensing this, Petro nearly lost his hold. Petro was able to recover by grabbing on to a nearby gargoyle. As Petro regained his hold, he took a moment to catch his breath. 

Petro: (Katooni...)

Despite his concern for Katooni, Petro pressed on as he continued to climb the Schnee Mansion. As he reaches the room where Weiss was, he suddenly sees bright light. 

Petro: Yep. Definitely her. 

Meanwhile inside her room, Weiss packs her things and prepares to make an escape attempt alongside her butler Klein. As they were about to leave, knocking was heard outside her window. Confused, Weiss opens the curtains to see Petro hanging on. 

Weiss: Petro?! How did you....

Petro: Can you please let me in?! I don't like heights!

Weiss opens the window and lets Petro in. Without hesitation, Petro jumps inside. 

Weiss: What are you doing here?

Petro: I came to bust you out. 

Weiss: You have impeccable timing. Klein was about to help me escape. 

Petro: Then what are we waiting for? Let's get out of here!

With that, Petro and Weiss along with Klein begin making their escape. As they move through the halls, Klein's scroll goes off. Klein was quick to answer it. 

Klein: Master Whitley! I... um... yes, of course. I'll be just a moment.

As Klein hangs up his scroll, he turns to Weiss and Petro and whispers to them.

Klein: Head to the first floor library. I'll meet you there.

With that, Weiss begins to lead Petro through the halls of the Schnee Mansion while Klein takes care of his business. As they move through the halls, they pass by Jacques's study to find it empty. Before they could react, Jacques confronted them.

Jacques: What do you think you're doing, young lady?

As Jacques spoke, Weiss remained calm and composed. 

Weiss: You can't stop me, father. 

Jacques: You're beginning to try my patience. It seems you'll need armed guards to keep you in line. 

Jacques then turns his attention to Petro. 

Jacques: And you. Did you really think that I was bluffing when I said I wasn't going to have you arrested? You'll regret....

Petro then begins waving his hand in front of Jacques and he stops talking. 

Petro: You're tired. You've had a long day. 

After a tense moment of silence, Jacques spoke in an almost trance like state. 

Jacques: I'm...I'm tired. I've had a long day. 

Upon hearing this, Weiss was shocked by her father's sudden change in tone.

Petro: You want to take a nap and turn in for the night. 

Jacques: I...I want to take a nap and turn in for the night. G...goodnight. 

As Jacques finished his sentence, he begins walking away from the two as if nothing had happened. Weiss was stunned by what had just happened. 

Weiss: What did you do to my father?

Petro: Power of persuasion. Don't worry. He'll be back to his...normal self in the morning. Let's not stick around when he wakes up. 

With that, Petro and Weiss continued navigating through the Schnee Mansion until the reached the library with Klein nowhere to be seen. 

Weiss: Klein! Klein, where are you?

As Weiss calls out Klein, he enters the library via a hidden door in the corner. 

Klein: Keep your voice down, I told you I'd be here.

Without hesitation, Weiss dropped her suitcase and Myrtenaster and hugged Klein. Petro simply smirks. 

Petro: Well would you look at that? The Princess does have a heart.

Klein: Are you sure Mistral is safe?

Weiss: No, but it's where I'll find Winter.

Klein: I suppose she'd be the only family you have left after tonight.

Weiss: I'll always have you. 

Klein: You most certainly will.

Petro: Don't forget about your teammates, Weiss. Family isn't just blood you know. It's about bond as well. 

Weiss smiled upon Petro's words. 

Weiss: You're very wise for a hoodlum, Petro. 

Petro: I have my moments, Princess. Now then, let's get the hell out of here. 

As Petro left through the secret entrance, Weiss hugged Klein once more. 

Weiss: Thank you, Klein. For everything. 

Klein smiled a sorrowful smile as Weiss followed Petro. In that moment, Petro and Weiss had made their escape from the Schnee Mansion. As they jumped the fence, Petro turns to Weiss. 

Petro: So you're ready to jump into the fight? 

Weiss: Yes, Petro. I am. 

Petro: Good. We got a long way to go if we're going to reach Mistral. Does your Dad have some kind of transportation we can steal?

Weiss: That won't be necessary. There's a Bulkhead travelling to Mistral. We can reach it if we hurry. 

With that, Petro and Weiss were on the road to Mistral. Weiss was now ready to rejoin the fight against evil. But the road to that fight would not be easy.
