(The Group laughs as they walk offstage. It's now transitioned to the house, which will remain the set for the large majority of the play. Furniture will change, indicating which room they're in. Currently, there's a sofa, an end table with an old lamp, and a rug. LUCAS slides open a window US, and rolls inside, crashing into a coatrack.)
Lucas: (quickly stands, wiping off his pants and putting his hands on his hips.) Alright, guys, the coast is clear. Just roll in the window and (be careful of the coatrack.)
Allison: (interrupts, pushing open the door CS) Or- we could walk in the door. Like normal people.
(The rest of the group follows ALLISON into the house, FELICITY is hiding behind JOSHUA, MASON looks sad.)
Lucas: (embarrassed) Oh. . . uh- (He looks around, trying to change the subject) Mason, why do you look so sad?
Mason: I- Oh- Uh- Nothing. Just tired, I guess.
Joshua: (leans into Mason, whispering) Is it because your girlfriend is hiding behind me and not you?
Mason: What- I- No! I mean- she's not my girlfriend, Josh.
Felicity: (leans over Josh's shoulder) What?
Joshua: (chuckles) I was just telling- (your boyfriend over here)
Mason: Nothing!
Allison: You can come out now, there's nothing here but a dusty couch- (and some old furniture)
Daisy: (interrupts ALLISON with humming offstage)
(A crash is heard and the GROUP freezes.)
Juniper: Di-did, you guys, hear that?
(DAISY walks backward onstage, singing into a candle. Being distracted, she runs into FELICITY. FELICITY screams and jumps onto JOSHUA's back. This makes everyone, including DAISY, scream. DAISY runs offstage.)
Felicity: S-so, this house is r-really haunted.
(MASON runs to the door, trying to open it. It won't budge.)
Mason: Lucas! The door won't open.
Lucas: (Moves to the window, which also won't open.) The window won't either!
(JOSHUA lets FELICITY off his back, ALLISON grabs her in a comforting way, but is angry.)
Joshua: You guys are just weak, let me try. (he pushes MASON out of the way and starts pulling on the door. It still won't open. He moves to the windows, which also still won't open.) Guys. . . I think we're trapped.
Juniper: What? No! We can't- nononono (starts spiraling and sits down on the ground, shaking and hyperventilating)
Joshua: (comforting) It's okay, June-bug, we'll get out.
(JOSHUA squats down next to her and comfortingly rubs her shoulders/back. LUCAS pulls MASON off to the side. The rest of the GROUP is consoling JUNIPER, but their voices are inaudible. Lights focus on LUCAS and MASON.)
Lucas: We're not trapped, right? It's an old house- the hinges are probably stuck. . . right?
Mason: Yeah, I think so. We just need to find something to- (like oil it or something.)
Daisy: (from offstage) It's okay Daisy- you can handle this. . . it's just a couple of kids.
(The GROUP all slowly turn their heads to face SL, JOSHUA pulls JUNIPER up and close to his side.)
Joshua: (defensive) Hey! Who's there? Come out-
(DAISY slowly inches onstage, grasping her candle close to her chest. MASON and LUCAS link arms and slowly inch back towards the group, in step with DAISY.)
Felicity: (distracted by DAISY's appearance) Woah- you're really pretty.
Daisy: (stops walking, and relaxes a bit.) Thank you! . . . Wait- (she holds her candle out with both hands, like a sword.) Are you going to hurt me?
Addison: Us? Hurt you? You're the ghost here. If anything, you're going to hurt us!
Daisy: (she shrugs and laughs) Well, yeah, but- but we can't do anything to living people. (she holds up her candle again, shes very tense) You people, however, can do a lot of damage to me. (her demeanor loosens and she starts tearing up) You people took my David from me.
Felicity: (empathetic) Who's David?
Daisy: David. . . he was my fiancé. He was murdered on our wedding day.
(JUNIPER, still shaken up, steps toward DAISY, her arms out. Whether this is a defensive measure or a way to comfort DAISY is up to the audience's imagination.)
Juniper: Were you. . . (hesitates) murdered, too?
Daisy: No, but. . . it felt like it. (she looks at the GROUP, and eases up when she realizes they're kids. She hugs herself sadly) It was 30 minutes before the ceremony, and my mother came in and told me 'David's missing.' And, of course, I was a little nervous, but I brushed it off. I told her, 'He's just in the woods with his friends, it's probably just taking a little longer to get out.'
Mason: Is that what happened?
Daisy: No, it turns out the groomsmen came back after he went missing. I ran out to find him and- (she chokes, she's crying) I found him dead in the autumn leaves..
Addison: How did he die?
Joshua: Addie! You can't ask questions (like that.)
Daisy: No, no, it's okay. It helps to talk about it. (she hesitates, she's suppressed the traumatic memory.) He was shot 3 times in the stomach, and strangled.
(The GROUP gasps)
