It's been 3 years since I last heard from Tony. The last time we spoke, I was leaving my mothers place to head back home. That night he had broken my heart into a million pieces. I spend a year writing him, messaging, calling, but eventually he changed his number. I knew that it was time to get over him and move on, and I thought that it was going to be harder than what it turned out to be.

Jason had come out of nowhere. He quickly became the light in my life. His blue eyes pulled me in from the start once I saw him across the room at my best friends party. He had a red solo cup in his hand and he ran the other through his black hair. He was talking to one of our mutual friends, and I couldn't help but stare. Our friend noticed me staring and pointed at me, which made Jason look at me. I quickly looked away but that didn't stop him from coming over. We talked for hours, and before I knew it, I was falling.

Six months after we had offically started dating, I decided to move out of my aunts house and I ended up in his apartment. He was 4 years older than me; 23 when we met. I spent countless  nights with him, and everything was going pretty well.

I graduated from highschool right after I moved in with him. I decided I would go to college near home, but I dropped out within the first semester. I saw my future with Jason and I didn't see a need to go to college.

I was happy for the first time since Tony left. The nightmares stopped. I stopped trying to contact him. I stopped laying awake at night and thinking of him. I was okay for the first time in forever.

Jason rolled over and kissed my cheek. "Good morning, baby." I was scrolling through Instagram on my phone, but looked at him once he rolled over.

"Good morning. How'd you sleep?" I smiled.

"I slept good. What about you?" He asked, sitting up to grab some clothes.

"I slept okay."

"Just okay?" He asked.

"Yeah. Kept waking up last night, but it's alright." I respoded.

"That sucks." Jason started getting ready for work.

"Oh, by the way, your mother called me last night. She said that you wouldn't answer the phone and she wanted me to tell you to call her when you woke up." He called from the bathroom.

I checked my call logs, and sure enough she had called four times last night. I called her back.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, mom. What's up?"

"Peter, um, I know that this is random, but can you come stay for a few weeks?" She asked.

"For what? Are you okay?" There was a sense of worry in my voice.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Things are just getting... rough."

"Oh... Yeah, I'll come. Just let me talk to Jason." I responded.

"Thank you so much, Peter." I could see her smile from miles away.

I missed my mother a lot. I haven't seen her since I left, but we had kept in contact. I've been too scared to go back, but now that I've moved on, I'll be fine.

Jason walked out of the bathroom.

"Hey, um, my mom wants me to come stay with her for a few weeks. I'm leaving this weekend. That's okay, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course." Jason smiled.

"Do you wanna come with me?"

"I can't, baby. I have to work." He frowned.

I nodded. "That's alright. I'll miss you." I smiled.

"I'll miss you too, love."
