Once I arrived home, I put Tony's contact in my phone and messaged him.

Peter: Hey, it's Peter :)

I waited for a while for him to text me back, but I found myself waiting longer than I expected. He must have been busy, but my mind wondered what he could be busy with. He could be at work. He could be cleaning. Or he could be holding Ashley in his arms the same way he held me, giving her the same look that he once gave me.

I was shaken out of my thoughts by the ding of the phone in my hand.

Tony: Oh, what's up?

I smiled widely and quickly replied.

Peter: Dinner was great. Thank you so much for inviting me.

Tony: I was nervous for you to meet Ashley. She's great, isn't she?

Peter: Yeah, she's cool.

I hated her. I had no reason for hating her, but I did. She was happily married to my ex-boyfriend. She had the privilege of laying next to him every night.

Tony: How was your day? :)

Peter: It was okay. A lot of unpacking and shit.

Tony: Makes sense. Oh, I don't know if your mom told you, but I come over for breakfast almost everyday lol.

Peter: You do?

Tony: Yeah. Ashley is usually at work at 6 am.

Peter: Ah. What does she do for work?

Tony: She's a part-time nurse.

Oh, great. So she's a nurse.

Peter: Oh wow that's amazing.

Tony: It is. Lately, I haven't seen her much, though. Her hours were changed and now she doesn't get home until 8 pm.

Peter: Aw, that sucks. If you ever want someone to hang out with, though, I'm here.

Tony: Okay, cool :)

Peter: I should probably head to bed. Goodnight Tony!

Tony: Night.

The next morning, I walked downstairs to find Tony and my mom sitting at the table. I smiled and walked over, sitting down beside Tony.

"Hey, Pete." Tony looked at me and smiled.

"Good morning." I smiled back.

"Would you like some coffee?" My mom asked me.

I shook my head no, "I'm not much of a coffee person."

"Are you sure? Your mom makes amazing coffee. You can try some of mine if you'd like." Tony suggested. Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach as I took his cup and drank from it, setting it back down.

"Actually, yeah, I'll have a cup." I smiled as my face became
bright pink.

Breakfast with Tony was always great. He would share stories from work and tales from his past. He always found a way to make us laugh.

I found myself forgetting Jason existed. He hadn't called or anything and I was realizing how in love I still was with Tony.

After breakfast, Tony stayed for a bit just to hang out. We ended up in my room, catching up on all of the new things in our lives.

"I was promoted CEO of my company, you know." He smirked proudly.

"Pack it up, Willy Wonka." I rolled my eyes playfully and he laughed.

"Okay, look, just because I work with chocolate... Okay, I'm seeing it." Tony chuckled.

Silence filled the air for a moment before I spoke, "I missed you."

"I missed you too, Peter." He smiled at me, looking deeply into my eyes.

My eyes darted down to his lips and then back up to his eyes. Oh, what I would do to kiss him right now...

"Hey, Peter?" He called softly.

"Yes, Tony?" I smiled, still staring deeply into his eyes.

"How long are you staying?" He asked.

"I-I don't know, why?"

"I don't want you to leave." Tony smiled.

I sighed, "Tony... I-I don't know if I have the strength to stay." I looked away.

"What do you mean?"

"I still love you." I looked back up and he went silent.

After a moment, he spoke. "Pete... I understand but... I'm married now. I don't know what to tell you."

"I don't think that we should be friends." I blurted out. I could see the disappointment in his eyes.

"Well... If you see that is best, then I won't be in your way. Goodbye Peter." He stood up and walked out of my bedroom, closing the door softly.

I sighed and fell back on my bed. Even if it was just a little bit, I still had him back, and of course I lost him again.
