jihoon

jihoon kept his promise. here he was, waiting at the pond, but where was soonyoung?

“i’m here! sorry for the wait, i was a bit busy.” before he could complain to soonyoung about waiting here in the cold, jihoon saw how gorgeous soonyoung looked that all his thoughts were washed away.

even though the clothes he wore were quite simple; a plain tee and sweatpants, soonyoung managed to pull off the look effortlessly.

“w-whatever. just don’t make me wait again next time.” jihoon wanted to face-palm himself for stuttering.

“so, are you implying that there’s a next time?” soonyoung smirked like an idiot as he sat down, more like fell down, next to jihoon with a thump.

“only if you want to, i guess.” though his voice was very quite, soonyoung managed to pick it up.

“okay, then! same time tomorrow.”
jihoon looked up and saw soonyoung smile, his eyes turning into crescents as his mouth was turned up so wide, jihoon’s mouth ached for him.

“about yesterday, sorry about that. i just had an emergency.” soonyoung softly muttered the last part and let himself fall back, his back hitting the grass as he gazed upon the stars, a sea of them stretching across the dark night sky. jihoon laid down with him, also looking up at the sky.

“yeah, it’s alright. stuff like that happens.”

“may i ask why you’re always here so late?”

“i can ask you the same thing.”

“no fair~ i asked first.” soonyoung whined and all jihoon could do was chuckle at his childishness.

“it’s simple. i have insomnia.” as those words left jihoon’s mouth, soonyoung quickly looked over at him.

“...does it not bother you?”

“no, not really.” soonyoung knew right off the bat that jihoon was lying. i mean, he said that in such a way like he had no fight left in him. soonyoung decided to change the topic though and jihoon was thankful for that.

“what is the color of happiness for you?”

“pardon? that was really random-”

“i don’t know? like happiness in color form, if that makes sense. like for me, happiness is purple. mellow and short, but i do try to savour it while it lasts.”

“oh, this might sound really typical but yellow. i don’t know if it’s because everyone associates happiness with it, but yeah, yellow.”

soonyoung looked over to jihoon, noticing the bags under his eyes. he decided to return to the topic earlier, being cautious of it, of course.

“well, for me, i usually come here this late because it’s the only moment in my day when i’m free. i do enjoy my freedom.”

“what do you mean free? care to elaborate?” jihoon questioned and soonyoung snickered at that.

“well- i have a boyfriend.” jihoon felt his heart tug at that.

“oh?”

“yeah, oh. he’s, how do i put this? a bit controlling at times?” jihoon looked over at soonyoung and saw the tears in his eyes, so he did the first thing that came to mind.

“he’s not worth your time. if freedom is important to you, he should at least learn to respect that.” jihoon said as he pulled soonyoung into his embrace.

soonyoung stuffed his face into jihoon’s chest as he let out a loud sob, holding jihoon’s hoodie as he fisted it, clenching his teeth as he tried to control the sounds coming out of his mouth.
