Chapter 21: I like you.

Soobin, Lia, Huening Kai, and Yuna

Soobin sighs and glances at Lia and she looks back at him. He playfully whines, "Why did they leave you in charge?" Lia smirks and says, "I'm the oldest, wisest, and honestly the best fit."

Soobin rolls his eyes and says, "We're so dead." Lia chuckles and sits next to him. They were in Kai and Soobin's room sitting on the bed by each other's side. They stared at their reflections on the flat-screen TV sitting in front of them. Soobin asks, "Did they say why they left?"

Lia nods her head and says, "They brought Yeji along with them. She said there were others and that she sort of knew where they were." Soobin nods his head still glancing at the reflection of the small girl sitting by his side. He can't help but stare at the sight. The clothes they wore surprisingly fit perfectly but that's because they were lucky and close to size with Jin and Nayeon.

Lia sat with sweatpants and a large sweater while her hair was in a bun while Soobin sat by her in a hoodie and sweatpants. The heaters were still on but it was fairly cold because of the winter. Little did the two know, they sat in silence for over 5 minutes just drifting in their thoughts.

"So-"
"Hey-"

The two chuckle and say simultaneously, "You go first." Lia playfully glares while Soobin smiles at her back. She says, "I'll go first."

Soobin nods his head and she asks, "Why did you want to hang out?" He looks at her confused and Lia uncharacteristically stutters, "Y-you know before the apocalypse happened. You sort of asked me to hang out randomly and we really only had mutual friends so I was really confused when you asked."

Soobin asks, "Why did you say yes when I asked you?" She stares at him in disbelief and says, "Answer mine first." He says, "I thought you were cool. We're sort of the same age too and we've gone to the same school and hung out with the same people... I wanted to get to know you."

Lia just nods and he says, "Now answer my question."

She replies, "Because I like you."

Soobin nods his head casually, "Oh okay- WAIT WHAT?"

Lia blushes and looks to her side at the nightstand. She changes the subject, "Wow my room doesn't have a nightstand." He says, "Wait, Jisu you liked-" Lia starts to get flustered hearing him call her by her real name and she immediately stands from the bed.

Lia says, "It's hot in here, is it just me?" Soobin stands and tries to hold her wrist to calm her down but she panicked and left the room. He chases after her, "Wait!"

Lia starts to walk quickly to her room but Soobin was quick enough to stand in front of her and trap her. She looks down to avoid his eyes and Soobin whispers, "You liked me?" Lia nods her head and whispers, "Well... yeah. You were nice, cute, and fun being around how could I not like you..." She starts to get shy voicing out her feelings outloud as he replies in disbelief, "But we rarely talked to each other..."

Lia whispers, "Well, you don't need to talk to be perfect."

Soobin asks not hearing what she said, "Sorry, what was that?"

Lia quickly runs under his arms and sprints towards her room. Soobin curses and sprints after her and as they near her room, Lia suddenly stops and Soobin slows down.

Soobin pants breathlessly, "Hey-" Lia quickly turns and extends her hand high to hush his lip. His eyes cross to stare at her finger and she whispers, "Do you hear that?"

"Stop~~"

"Soobin has Lia in his room, they won't be here until probably dinner."

"You're so cute."

"Hehehe, no you're cute."

Lia and Soobin quickly barge in the room and their eyes widen seeing Kai and Yuna holding hands.

They quickly separate as if they were caught in the act. They were sitting on the bed but Yuna was quick to turn and face her back towards Kai while he rolled off the bed and planted on the ground to pretend to do push-ups.

Soobin asks, "What was going on here?"

Kai looks up from the ground and says, "Just doing push-ups." Yuna replies, "I'm staring at the wall."

Lia asks, "We're not stupid."

Kai laughs as he stands from the ground. He stands next to Soobin and wraps his arm around his shoulder. He chuckles, "Why would we ever lie? Not like we were holding hands and talking about our feelings, psshhhhhh! Only couples do that, hahahaha."

Yuna facepalms hearing his lame excuse as Soobin nods his head, "Right, couples. So are you saying you're a couple?"

Kai erupts in laughter, "Hahahahaha, me and Yuna? Ha!" Yuna immediately turns her head in betrayal and he notices her big round eyes. He stutters, "W-well, I can see how you see we are a good couple. We're both a good match and we have good chemistry but... okay fine. You caught us."

Lia's eyes widen as she whispers, "Do you usually go behind our back and... hold hands?" Yuna turns back to the wall avoiding the conversation and leaving Kai to fend for himself. Soobin whispers unknowingly, "That's so innocent it's cute..."

Kai clears his throat thinking of an excuse and uses his last resort.

Kai lets go of Soobin's shoulder and turns to face the older. He says carefully and seriously, "Okay, okay... All jokes aside and in full seriousness...."

Soobin and Lia eye him expectently as he suddenly becomes serious. They start to expect a mature and clear answer for him but he had other things in mind.

Kai points at Soobin and raises his voice, "CHOI SOOBIN HAS HAD A CRUSH ON YOU FOR A LONG TIME!" Soobin's eyes widen and Lia's jaw drops. Soobin turns to Lia embarrassed and stutters, "I-I"

Kai took the opportunity and takes Yuna's hand, "RUN!"

They two maknaes run out the room as Soobin and Lia are left in an awkward silence inside their room.

Suddenly Chan appears with a beanie on his head, a large sweater, and baggy pants while eating a bowl of cereal, "What's happening? Where did Yeji go?"

Lia and Soobin awkwardly turn to him and he suddenly feels a weird vibe. He just walks away with no other words while Lia and Soobin can only stare at the empty hallway. Soobin whispers, "I-I also like you. That's why I asked to hang out with you."
