The next day, as Nao was walking to school, he decited to bring his ukelele to school. He did get stares but overall, he didn't care. He puts it next to him on the floor, in it's case of course, until later.
At lunch, Yuu went around collecting all of the soft tennis club members, including Nao. They told all of them to meet around their desk. Nao walked with Taiyo to the other classroom, while bringing his ukelele, of course. He doesn't want it to get broken or stolen.
When the boys got into the room, Maki turned his head to see them. When he saw Nao had his ukelele, Maki gave him a smug look, this that smirk of his. It didn't take very long for the other members of the team to join them. The team meeting lasted almost the entirely of the lunch, with a few minutes left to spare.
With the spare time, Nao & Maki went to the roof of the school. Nao strummed on him Ukelele & Maki listened. It was peaceful, until Taiyo appeared.
"Hey guys! What are you doing?"
Nao just looked away, putting his ukelele away behind his back. Maki just looked at the sunshine boy. He didn't realized he ruined the moment, he just saw his friends & wanted to greet them.
"Hey Taiyo, what's up?," asked Maki.
"Nothing. I was just wondering around. I was a little lonely so I wanted to see if there was someone I could talk to. Well, the bell is about to ring. See ya later!"
The two sitting boys just nodded at the sunshine boy. Then, a couple minutes later, the bell rang. Maki & Nao decited to walk to class together, but splitting once they got to their hallway.
Practice was fairly uneventful. Just usual practice. After that though, Maki asked Nao if he wanted to have dinner with him, Touma, Yuu, Kanako, & his mom. The taller boy said yes. That also meant getting fished out more by his mother, but Nao didn't care. He could forget just for a little while, about his mom, about school. He was actually kind of exited.
As the five middle schoolers walked to Maki's apartment, they had a pleasant little conversation. They mainly talked about their favourite & least favourite teachers. Overall, the trip over to Maki's was quite delightful.
Once they got to Maki's, he immediatly went over to the stove & put on a pot of water. He then set Yuu to start chopping vegetables he set out for them to chop. Then Touma started on the sweeping. Kanako was just playing on her phone. Nao wasn't supprised by that. Nao eventually asked is Maki needed help. The shorter boy just asked him to get out some cooking stuff for him, since he was a guest during this occasion.
While Maki, Touma, & Yuu were doing chores, Nao was told he could strum on his ukelele if he wanted to, which he did. When he did, the whole atmosphere was more homely. It seemed like everyone was in a better mood, just from Nao playing his ukelele. He played until it was time to eat.
It wasn't long after the five started eating that Aya came home. While Aya smiled at the unfamilliar boy, Nao immediatly stood up.
"Hello ma'am. I'm Tsukanose Nao. It's nice to meet you."
"Hello sweetie. I'm Maki's mother, Aya Katsuragi! Nice to meet you hun!"
Nao smiled at the woman. She seemed really nice, & like a good mother. Then a man came walking in, a friendly looking one with soft dark hair & glasses.
"Hey kids! I'm Shou, Aya's boyfriend," said the man.
Maki's eyes lit up as he said, "Shou! Hey! How've you been? Oh, I guess I should introduce my friends. This is Touma, Yuu, Kanako, & Nao. They go to school with me."
The four other kids just nodded their heads at the older man. Then as the kids procided to eat, the two adults started to eat. Luckily, Maki made a lot of extra food.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Heyo! So I decited to work on this tonight instead of my Haikyuu fan fic. I actually had fun writing this, mainly for the sake of typing the word ukelele. It's just fun to me. Anywho, I think I'm going to put some angst in the next chapter (we'll see about that though). Also, I just had to add Shou, since he is one of my favourite adults, if not my favourite adult, in the show. Also I love the fact that I typed "He then set Yuu to start chopping vegetables for them to chop," like, chop chop mother fucker. Anyways, drink water or have your toes stolen. Good night!
