Today is the day. It's the trip to the Javits Center in Manhattan. It also was the day the boy's varsity basketball team left for state championships. It was just one of those things people in our school looked forward to, as, for me, I really didn't care as much. I was happy for them, but I was just looking forward to not being in school today even though it was Thursday. We had to be at the train station at like 7 am which irritated me, but it beats going to school the whole day. Arriving there, a lot of people were there, including most of those acquaintances I had and close friends. The train finally came, and we boarded on. I sat with those I knew while others were separated from us. As I sat down, I looked straight ahead to see that same girl smiling with her friends. It seemed like a new version of her emerged within those two days from being sad from my friend. I'm glad she was better at that moment, but I didn't want to be involved in that bullshit. I continued to make conversation with those around me and make that 1-hour train ride fly by. Finally stopping in Penn Station, we got breakfast and walked blocks down to the Javits Center. Once we got there, it was something I had never seen before. This robotics competition looked interesting and weird for me at the same time. It was known as the FIRST Robotics Competition game. Getting settled in, I went to explore the building area where they were building the robots with my friends. I didn't know all this science stuff was complicated to do, but then again science is my least favorite subject, so I wasn't surprised. Being there, I noticed all these flags and realized there are also different countries here including Brazil and Spain. It was nice to see different people from around the globe and I did take a lot of pictures. Leaving that area, I noticed that same girl snuggled up in-between my best friend Giovanni's lap. At that moment, I guess she moved on real quick from my previous friend. I didn't care at that moment and tried to get through these next five hours of watching competitions and making conversation with people, especially those from around the globe. When we were finally leaving, it was like 8 pm. We proceeded to walk back to Penn Station to head home. Before getting on the train, we were told we could walk around and eat before the train came because we still had a whole half hour. As my friends and I explored all of what Penn station had to offer to eat, I noticed that same girl following along with us. I assumed she was with an acquaintance I knew of when my friends and I wandered around. After deciding to get Jamba Juice, that same girl got closer within the circle I was in with my friends. She asked if she could try some of what I had. Weirded out I seemed at first, but I got another straw and we shared the strawberries wild I had. The friends around us were making it awkward, saying aww as though we were together, but we were far from friends at that point in time. At one point I let her have the drink and headed back with the group to get back on the train home. On the train ride, the girl sat near my friends and me, thinking as though she had gotten closer with us, especially with me I felt. She tried to make conversation, but I think she could tell from my facial expression that I was annoyed and tired. She even made a step further to videotape me, which bothered me at first, but I just let it be. Hours trickled down to 10 pm and we finally arrived back. I told all my friends bye, got in my car, and drove home. Once there, I still didn't even bother to remember everything the girl did that night, but I couldn't lie that it may have been in the back of my head. I got in my bed and did what I've always done. I waited for another day filled with bullshit.
