"Àirén (sweetheart), I can't believe you're here with me! That it's just us. Gliding down the river towards Tongli Water Town right now. I can't believe that you're all mine. YueYue, I love you." Di said dreamily to Yue who was in his arms, her back against his chest as she sat in between his legs.

"Of course, baby! I would do anything for you, you know that. You're my north, south, east and west star. My heart will be guided to you wherever you are in the world. Here in Suzhou is no different." replied Yue lovingly.

She snuggled closer to him and burrowed in the warmth of his embrace, feeling carefree as the two were far from prying, envious eyes, and instead on a private wooden covered river boat, a sampan, in Suzhou where DiDi was currently filming his latest drama project.

As per their norm of being with one another when time permitted, this time Shen Yue had quietly snuck to him in between her own filming engagements. They were ninja pros at this point, almost three years into their relationship, and in fact, were celebrating their anniversary early that weekend.

And she had come prepared.

First, she had surprised him by waiting for him to wrap up the day's filming in his private van and then whisked him to the sampan they were currently on floating towards Tongli. She would later treat him to a private seafood feast she'd arranged at the Couple's Garden Retreat, one of the many beautiful gardens throughout the region, and kept smiling at the thought of how happy he'd be with all the thoughtful and romantic gestures she had in store for him that week.

He was about to be Daomingsied, much like how his debut character had repeatedly surprised and wooed her Shancai.

Across three years of dating, both had remained committed to focusing deeply on the quality and not quantity of their love. In spite of many and varied obstacles—possessive toxic fans, interference from interested entities, a now deep dislike of chicken, vicious gossip mongers, mismatched schedules, and other impositions the couple was going strong and very much in love. Sometimes, they would share their romance with supporters through loud and blatant hints but most times their love was private and only meant to be shared between them, like the current moment.

They drifted in peaceful, enamored silence a while longer and after some time Shen Yue looked up at DiDi who appeared lost in thought. She tickled him under his chin and asked "what are you thinking about, love?

DiDi's boyish smile tugged at the corners of his mouth and he bashfully replied, "I was actually wondering about when you started falling in love with me? We've been together all this time and I know you inside and out, but I just realized that I don't actually know when I started gaining a place in your heart."

"Mmm, that's easy," Yue said softly and rather coyly, not taking for granted how confident and insightful, yet vulnerable her boyfriend could be. She paused and slowly batted her lashes, piquing DiDi's curiosity, then pressed her warm curvaceous lips just under his jaw.

"Xiao Yue..." he said headily, drawing a slow, steadying breath, the chill of the soon approaching winter colliding against the heat she so easily built up in him with just a look from her whiskey-colored eyes.

"Tell me...baby. When did you start falling for me? When could you not stop thinking about me? When did you start dreaming about me? When did you start dreaming sexy little dreams about me..." he trailed off, turning the seductive tables, brushing his fingers on the inside of her upper thigh and leaving them there.

"When you pulled my hoodie. That's when I knew. You were such a rascal."

He stared at her blankly, doing a mental scan of his memory, of all the times he messed with her, trying to get her attention and win her heart.
