If they really wanna uplift the judicial system I think that the state should add old women and mothers because they can judge faster than you can say......ORDER!

                                                                                                        ~ Ezelynn Chambers

"Ummm.......yeah I'd like the keys to my dorm room please." I said eyeing the blonde woman sitting behind the counter. She looked small and petite with a rectangular face and blue eyes which seemed to enlarge behind her rectangular glasses. She wore a blue cardigan and her blonde hair was tightly bound as a bun. Her specs were perched on her nose and she tilted her head down to assess me. I looked down to my attire. I was wearing black skinny jeans with a plain white t-shirt beneath a chocolate brown leather jacket. I already felt naked under her gaze and I bunched my jacket closer to myself.

" Name?" She asked, her voice really bold.

" Ezelynn Chambers."

She searched through the papers on her desk until she seemed to find the one paper. She again  did the thing with the specs, then her gaze slid to me and then to the papers and then back and forth between me and the paper.

"Hmmmm......" She said finally and kept the papers down. Next she bent down and opened a drawer (as it seemed) and took out two keys both with wooden key rings attached.  She beckoned me closer and gave one to me. It was a small silver key with the no. 0905 engraved on the wooden keyring.

" So I'm Mrs. Dennis and I'm the student incharge. I'm no desk lady and I'm only here because a new student decided to join in junior year on short notice." I winced.

" However I'll be present in the office building during school hours." She continued ignoring me.. " And go on infrequent rounds twice a week so please refrain from doing something..... nasty."

" The mess that is located through this door" She pointed to a wooden door in the corner of the desk. "Serves breakfast sharp at 8 so don't be late. Lunch is at the cafeteria with all the other students and for dinner you have to come down to the mess at 7:30 pm sharp. If you were to miss any meal in the mess you  would've to inform the cook before hand. I have an extra key to you room" She said waving the key at me "And will use it if the situation demands, you will be informed before I use it." She said before I could comment anything on privacy. "And in case you lose your key come to me I'll get you another but only if you have a proper reason."

"Today is Friday and the school starts from Monday. Your schedule, books and other things will be sent to your room by tomorrow with all the instructions that you will need. Now you can retire to your room." She said waving her hand at me in dismissal. I took that as a cue and carried my bags to the corridor.

I found my room at the second floor that is the last floor it was also the last room on the floor.        I guess they really don't recruit easily. I thought as I fit my key on the wooden door with a 0905 steel plate and swung open the door.

My room was to say.... warm.

The walls were painted a sweet peach colour which reflected the lights beautifully. It was not big just average size with a small bed with cabinets at its head at one corner towards the left of the room and a desk located a little away from the foot of the bed. There was a a window near the bed again with white sills and as I opened it I found a metal railing extended outside and it formed a metal supporting stand. The bed and the desk along with the chair were painted white. There was a white door towards the right of the entrance which I presumed and another set of small double doors towards the other corner of the room which checked out was a small walk-in closet. A white open cupboard was beside the table and there was even a roof window which I checked was tightly latched.

I promised to myself to try and open it later.

I quickly set the bags which I brought with me near the bed and it took me another two trips to get the boxes from the car. As I climbed the steps to the first landing I heard laughter and multiple voices and saw that the immediate door to my right was being opened.

Shit! I cursed and darted up the stairs uncaring of the loud sound that my steps made.

As I closed my door and set the box down I finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Wow Ezelynn! Way to go for a first impression. Now everyone will think that the new girl is either a psycho or super heavy or maybe both.

The thing was I had never been a person to make the first communication easily. Even then it took me some time to get comfortable with people. I trusted and was comfortable with very few people in my life that too after quite some time and now suddenly the mere prospect of meeting new people seemed scary. After my parent's death I had refused any contact with any other person only having a meeting with my uncle after the funeral.

Now that I had just arrived to a new town I needed a day to myself to get acquainted with the idea. Making friends was a task for another day.

As it was getting dark and the continuous driving had made my shoulders stiff and I was exhausted I decided to call it a day. I quickly got shed my jacket and pants for a red short pant and switched off the lights and dived under the covers that were already laid down.

I slept with the day of my parents death flashing across my mind.
