The Cocky Conquer

Chapter 11

Mikasa's POV

"We've been walking for a while, are you sure we're going the right way?" Adrian only answered with a nod as he directs us which way to go and how to pass anymore guards that'll be in our path. "We're not that far from his place. He lives away from the market isolated from people just to stay safe. He helps almost everyone so he needs to be away from others."

We turn down an alley that leads to a village of houses that look pretty decent to live in. It reminds me of those times where I first saw Levi. The scene just keeps replaying over in my mind and it's making me crazy. I try to shake the thought away and focus on what we're doing now.

We make it to a decent size house that wasn't that bad in shape. The windows were boarded up except for one in the front and the door had a peephole. Adrian knocks on the door in a weird way as the door slightly opens a bit and closes as we hear a lot of locks turning until it finally opens. It reveals an old man in baggy clothes and a mask on to conceal his identity.

"Is this the new recruit that's supposed to help us in war sir Adrian?" Adrian nods his head and motions me to come inside as the man looks out the door to see if anyone was watching and immediately locks the door.

"What do you mean new recruit umm mister?" He beckons me to sit down and begins to talk. "Valorie is at war with the Beast Titan. He was an ally with us until something despicable happened. Now he's bringing an army of men to destroy this town including the innocence with it. We need your help to win this war that was started."

I begin to frown at the explanation. "Why can't you guys just run away and let her do it herself? What do you only need me for?"

"If only it was that easy, we tried to escape but the following morning we would see the victims of escaping body parts at each of our doors. It was terrifying for us. This war has been going on for years and now it's worsening. She wants you because you're an Ackerman after the event of what happened with your parents she wasn't willing to stop finding you."

"Wait. You mean she's been trying to get my parents involved?! Was she the reason for my parents death that day?" I anxiously tap my foot on the floor as I ball my hands into a fist as anger surges through my body.

"Supposedly yes. All these years we've been tracking down Ackermans until one of her workers killed your parents. We were suppose to bring you back but they didn't return."

I slam my hands on the table and grab the old man by the collar as Adrian tries to pry my grip off of him.

"My parents are dead because of your stupid leader's foolish actions. I never gotten the chance to live my life with them and you took them away! THIS IS YOU AND YOUR STUPID TOWN'S FAULT!"

I let go of his collar as he falls on the floor and storm towards the door unlocking it. I start to walk out of it until Adrian grabs my wrist. "Where are you going? Don't you know it's dangerous going out there alone? It's suicide."

I give him a cold stare which makes him soften his grip on me. "I'll kill anyone who stands in my way. I'm going back to Levi and my friends with or without your help." Yanking my hand away from him I walk the door while slamming it. I'll just have to hide for now. I know the others will recognize that I'm gone and will come to get me.

Levi's POV

Me and the cadets make it to the forest as we follow tracks that looks like it comes from a wagon. I hope that old hag was right about where Mikasa is or I'll beat him to death with my foot. Hearing stomping I raise my hand to signal everyone to stop.

"Be prepared to have your swords ready to slice a nape you brats. We're not alone in this forest." I motion them to follow behind me slowly while not making any possible noises that'll give away our location. There are Titans roaming in the forest blocking our only way out. The cadets and I take out each Titan one by one with me signaling them to slay it.

As we make it to the end of the forest we ride at full speed with the sun setting. "Tch. We won't make it there with the sun out. Everyone light your torches and stay close but don't lose the formation!"

Just you wait Mikasa, we're almost there...
