Seth walked down the road, eagerly as the blacksmith shop came into view. It was noon and he was about to begin his honest work. He was excited. Obadiah had informed him while he was learning basics, he would not be paid as much. But once his training was over, which only took a few days, he would be paid a respectable amount he and Obadiah worked out the day before so that he may make his living.

Though, he wasn't sure that he could keep his head straight today. Especially not after seeing Obadiah's daughter, Amity, at the river this morning in a state of near undress. He couldn't help it when his eyes swept over her pale, bare shoulders, her face lit with a crimson blush. He could just see the skin of her back, so soft and smooth looking. Her body taunted him in his mind. He could only imagine what the rest of her beautiful body looked like.

Obadiah would kill him for sure if he knew Seth had seen his daughter in that manner. That was just something he needed to keep to himself.

When he arrived, Obadiah was waiting outside for him. The older man grinned and clapped Seth on the shoulder. "Well, I'll be damned! For a little bit, I didn't think you'd show!"

Seth quirked a brow curiously. "Why not?"

Obadiah's face became serious. "I saw your face yesterday when I forbid your association with my daughter. I was worried that my over-protectiveness would male you think twice about this job."

Seth sighed and hooked his thumbs in his pants. "Sir, I will tell you I am disappointed that you wish for me not to associate with your daughter. But I also have hope I might be able to change your mind."

Obadiah was impressed by the boy's courage. Not many men, let alone young men, would speak against the burly man. Of course, he was older now, but he could still lift a fallen log by himself. So, not many men went against him.

"I'll tell you what boy," Obadiah smirked. "If you think you can get my little girl to want to court you, I'll allow it."

Seth's eyes brightened. "Really?"

Obadiah nodded once and jerked his thumb toward the shop. "Yes really, but as of right now, we need to get to training you for the job."

Obadiah taught him everything he could ever need to know about blacksmithing. It wasn't hard much at all, Seth found it was a skill that came naturally to him. Now, he had done some work like this when he was still at Roswen, but never quite as laboring. By the end of the day, he was covered in black soot and sweat from hard work and the heat. He had burnt himself more than once, but never voiced a complaint about it, he actually felt a bit of pride in having a scar or two on his hands from his work.

Before he went home, he decided to make a stop by the river, so he may clean up a bit. It didn't take long for him to make it to the river, he glanced around to make sure he was alone then began stripping from his clothes.

Amity gasped at the sight in front of her. She had come down to to river for some peace and quiet, maybe ponder what she was to do about the letter, when she saw a figure already there. Quickly, she hid herself behind a thick tree, bigger around than herself. She already knew who it was, just by looking a the back of his head. His shaggy short hair smudged with black soot, as well as his hands all the way up to his elbows. But she could tell who he was. She had just learned his name that morning, Seth. She learned it this morning as she had been ready to quickly wash herself in the river. She had been nearly undressed when he approached. Now she found she was in the same position as this morning, except, he was the one undressing, and she didn't make a sound to let him know she was there. Shamefully, she simply watched as he shed his clothes, looking away with a bright blush when he removed his trousers, and quickly looking back again when she heard the water had been disturbed. She saw he was waist deep in the river, rubbing his face and arms to rid of the blackness.
