When Simmons awoke that day, she didn't plan on going on a mission, especially in the field.

She was nervous, field missions were not her expertise.

It was going to be her, to collect any alien objects found; Ward, for protection; May, for protection, also; and Skye, for their hacking purposes.

Fitz was furious. He knew she hated field missions and he would've gladly took her place.

As they sat in her bunk and chatted the night before, Fitz was scared.

Their discussion had lots of "what ifs."

"Fitz, I will be fine. Just a little nervous, that's all."

He slowly nodded, and eventually made his way back to his bunk.

The next morning was quiet. Everyone knew that on these missions, there were risks.

Thevteam packed up and headed off for the mission.

The mission exactly? Collect all alien related objects found.

When Simmons began to exit the plane, she kissed Fitz's cheek and collected all her necessary materials.

The building they were entering was very hazardous.

There were lots of risks with different substances and alien materials.

Skye got them in, no problem. Ward fought off the guards, no problem.

As Simmons climbed through the window and walked through each hallway, trying to find the devices, she grew nervous.

She only had Ward to protect her, why couldn't they send May?

She, eventually, found a device and she was completely unaware of its uses.

"Ward!" She whispered, and got no reply.

"Ward."

Nothing.

"Oh no. Ward?"

She turned around and he lay on the ground, unconscious.

She set the alien device down and slowly looked around the room.

"Hello, gorgeous."

She heard and turned around.

She couldn't recognize the person as she slowly backed up against the table.

"Well, what do we have here? You're coming with me."

He grabbed her hands and held them together and blindfolded her.

She was led out of the room and was taken somewhere else.

She was incredibly scared out of her mind.

"Where are we going?" she asked, and got a chuckle.

"To talk to some friends of yours."

What? Friends of hers?

He opened a door and she was thrown onto a chair.

"Wait here."

She was blindfolded and he had resorted to tying her hands so she was stuck.

"Don't worry, I will."

She couldn't count down the time, but she swore it had been 30 minutes before he came back.

She heard speaking. Familiar speaking.

"Well, hello. We have a little surprise for you, Agent Coulson."

Coulson, she thought.

Her blindfold was pulled off, there was Coulson standing in his office.

"Simmons! Are you alright?"

She nodded slowly, and swallowed.

"I guess so."

There was a small pause and then the man spoke up.

"Agent Coulson, if you do not reveal the location of your headquarters, you will lose an agent."

She heard muffled talking and a Scottish accent.

"Coulson, what's going on?"

Then, he appeared.

"Simmons! Don't you touch her!"

A smile appeared on the mans face.

"Oh, I see. We've got your man here now."

"We are not scared of you, sir. We will get our agent back."

"I was afraid you'd say that."

A knife was held up to her neck, and Fitz ran forward.

"No! Jemma! We'll save you, I promise. I love you Simmons."

A smile arose on her face.

No matter what way he meant that, she loved him too.

"I love you too, Fitz."

"How sweet is that? Now, where were we?"

He inched the knife closer and she could barely even breathe.

"Coulson, don't reveal it. It's okay, I can go down."

"Not an option, Simmons."

Coulson said, as he does all the time.

The door opened and in walked May.

A smile appeared on Jemma's face.

Of course, May did her business and she was untied.

Fitz was inches away from the screen and Jemma walked over to it.

She put her hand on the screen and smiled, "I'll be home soon, Leo."

And ended the call.

May and her grabbed the alien device, quickly and Ward joined their side.

"Let's go!"

Simmons crawled back out the window and they gathered onto the plane.

~

"Landing in 5 minutes."

She prepared all her stuff and put it on her back.

The plane decreased slowly, and they were soon on the ground.

Simmons opened the door, and ran to the bus.

Fitz was standing there, smiling.

"Jemma," he whispered and ran to her.

She threw her backpack down and practically jumped into his arms.

He picked her up off her feet and hugged the life out of her.

"I'm so glad you're okay," he said and she giggled.

"Me too."

He set her down and smiled.

"I've been meaning to do this for a long time," he said and leaned down.

Their lips met and she smiled.

"Wow."

They both chuckled and she hugged him.

That night, before they drifted into sleep, she cuddled into him.

"Please," she said.

"Don't let me go."

He pulled her in closer.

"I won't," before kissing her forehead.
