Your night in the town with Kol was the most fun you had since you moved to St. Petersburg. You couldn't walk in the sunlight, but you went around the city when the sun cast a shadow over the buildings. You were lucky to have run into Kol that day. It had been a cloudier day than the other so you were able to go to the high-end markets earlier than usual. The fact you were on that street with him was destiny.
After he revealed himself as a vampire to you the day you met. Since then neither of you had been able to keep your hands off the other. You had taken him back to your small apartment and you two had barely gotten to the door. After that the two of you laid stretched out on the couch together in each other's arms.
"So you're one of the first ever vampires?" You asked, laying your head on his bare chest.
"Me and my 5 siblings."
"And you can't be killed at all? Not even with a wood stake?" You couldn't help asking questions. Kol was just filled with mystery.
"Well no, but my brother Klaus the hybrid, he has these daggers that he can use to kill us. But once you take them out we come back to life."
"Has he ever used them on you?"
"All the time. Sometimes he'll just dagger me because he's in a bad mood. It's why I ran away to Russia. I tried to do the same to him and now him and my other brother are coming after me."
"What did you do?"
"I tried to teach a coven of witches to make the daggers he has into something else so it would work on him. Just wanted him to sleep for a change, get a taste of his own medicine. He found out before I could get what I needed and he tried to dagger me at this fancy Christmas party but I got away before he had the chance. I probably should have told you before, but they aren't going to stop looking for me. I understand if you would want to get as far away from me as possible. My family can be ruthless and it's best to stay off their radar."
You sat up and looked at him. It's only been a day and you couldn't imagine leaving Kol. "I'm good staying right here as long as you are."
He took your hand in his and smiled. "Good because I don't want you going nowhere darling."
You laughed and laid your head back on his chest. Enjoying his warm embrace.
"You never did tell me how you became a vampire?" Kol asked, wrapping his arms tightly around you.
"When I was 15 I was taken by a vampire and used as a reusable blood bag. One day he never came back and I ran away. But when I returned home my family was all dead. My brothers were shot in the war and my father was killed in an animal attack. I was taken in ironically by another vampire, her name was Alexia. She did a lot of traveling, she went around the country helping other vampires be better about how many people they drank from and killed. Apparently she had pissed off the wrong vampire. They nicknamed him the slayer of Bayard or something dumb like that. He showed up to the house we lived in one day and fed me his blood while Alexia was out. When she got home he threatened to kill me if she didn't stop her work, but she refused, so he snapped my neck. I don't know what happened after that but I woke up in a graveyard in my own coffin and unluckily for the groundskeeper he hadn't buried me yet." You looked over at Kol and his eyes seemed remorseful. "It was all over 50 years ago I'm fine now."
He reached over and brushed a few strands of hair away from your face. "What happened to your friend? The vampire you lived with."
"I don't know. I haven't seen her since."
"The man who turned you, his name was Bayard the slayer?"
"Yeah I think so."
"I knew him. Back in 1770 he was just some street thug who begged me to turn him. He said he couldn't stand being powerless another day. I guess he got all the power he wanted. If I had known he would turn you"
You cut him off there "I wouldn't have let you change a thing. Him turning me was the best thing that happened to me. If not I would have lived out a short lonely life. Now instead I get to live forever, and for bonus points I was able to meet you."
Ever since that day you and Kol had been inseparable. You had been living with him in a small cabin on the outskirts of town. He told you stories about his family and his long life as a vampire. You told him stories of your brothers mischief. You both talked about the places you had traveled to and the places you could go together. He even paid a local witch to make you a necklace you could wear to allow you to walk in the daylight. Over 50 years you hadn't felt the sun on your face, and he changed that.
The past 6 months with Kol have been the most exciting months of your life, and they have gone by so quickly. There had never been a dull moment with him. It was the most freeing experience of your life.
Maybe you two had been too carefree recently. Because one night when you two were at your cabin Elijah and Klaus came kicking down the door.
You had never thought to have a human own the house to keep unwanted vampires out and you regretted not thinking of it sooner.
Kol immediately stepped up to his brothers showing no fear. "Long time, brothers. What are you doing here?"
The older one you recognized as Elijah from Kols stories stood calm and collected by the blonde one, who you figured was Klaus the hybrid, who seemed to be boiling with anger.
"You know why we're here Kol."
"What? To dagger me and stuff me in one of Klaus's boxes again!"
"Yes! You tried to betray me, your own brother!"
"It's nothing you haven't done to me in the last century. Besides I was never considered a part of your family. You Elijah and Rebekah. It's always been just the three of you. Well I have news for you. I don't want to be a part of your family anymore. I have all I need right here!" Kol was yelling by the time he finished.
But he turned back and looked at you with eyes filled with love and your heart melted. You only knew something was wrong by the look on Kols face. The light in his eyes faded and you could hear both Kol and Elijah's voices call out for Klaus to stop.
It all felt like an eternity but in mere seconds Klaus had appeared behind you and snapped your neck. All you felt was pain and everything just turned off.Kols perspective
I watched (y/n)'s body hit the floor. Klaus only smiled and wiped his hands like he had accomplished some minor task.
"I'm sorry dear brother, was this human girl important to you?" Klaus laughed.
He said human, he didn't know (y/n) was a vampire. He thought he had really killed her. I held back a smile. I would have to play along, or he might actually kill her if he knew she was a vampire. "You know I won't ever forgive you for this Klaus! You can dagger me but I will wake up one day and I won't forgive you."
"Don't worry Kol you won't remember this anyways. We only tracked you down from a tip off from a local witch. Apparently she didn't like what she heard about the poor witches stuck in that house for eternity. But we got her to do a spell. For the next 48 hours we can compel you to forget everything." Klaus smiled enjoying what he thought was a victory. "Elijah why don't you do the honors, I'm done here." He scowled again and walked out to stand by the fireplace on the other side of the cabin.
"I'm sorry Kol about the girl but this has to be done." Elijah took me by the shoulders and looked me in the eyes. "You've never ran off to St. Petersburg. You never met a girl here. You tried to betray Klaus and he daggered you at the Christmas party."
I looked around the room. I had no idea where I was. Elijah was standing in front of me with a sad face. I turned around to see a girl lying on the floor dead and Klaus standing in front of me now with a dagger in his hand. I tried to move out of the way, but he was too prepared. He drove the small dagger through my heart and the last thing I felt was myself falling.(y/n)'s perspective again
You woke up laying on the floor with a sharp pain in your neck. Struggling to get off the floor you tried to remember what happened. You saw the door of the cabin broken from being kicked down, you saw kols dead body laying on the sofa with and you saw his two brothers standing with shocked looks by the fireplace.
It all came back to you, what had happened before your neck had been snapped. You quickly ran to kols body on the couch but you didn't get to him as Klaus held you up by the throat pushing you into the wall.
"How are you alive!"
"Isn't it clear Nicklaus she's a Vampire."
"Well I'll just rip her heart out then. That way she'll stay dead this time." He put his hand over where your heart is, getting ready to pull it from your chest.
"No, don't Nicklaus! There is no need for her to die. Kol won't remember her anyways. So just compel her to forget and leave the girl alone this time."
Klaus scowled and set your feet back on the ground, but he kept his hand on your throat. "Leave, you've lived in St. Petersburg for too long now. You want to move on. You spent your time here alone and never met anyone interesting and you wish to never come back here again."
The strange man let go of your throat and in a daze you watch the two men leave with another man draped over their shoulders. They didn't matter though. You need to leave. You had lived in St. Petersburg too long and you wanted to go see more of the world.
