Hanji <3: ______ please stop ignoring me
Hanji <3: I'm sorry for what I did, I know I shouldn't have brought her around knowing that something like that would happen
Hanji <3: please talk to me

I ran a hand through my hair and looked down at the cold wooden floor. The silence was killing me, usually Levi would be home and we would be listening to music or talking but he had to work. Our work schedules hardly allowed us to spend time together anymore, the only time we could truly be alone together was late at night after one of us came home.

I hadn't talked to Hanji in two weeks, and I even went as far as to change my shifts to I didn't have to interact with her at least temporarily until I was ready to talk to her. It might have been a bit petty, but I couldn't face her just yet knowing she was comfortable bringing someone she knew wanted Levi into our home. Though a bit irrational, it almost made me wonder if her plan all along was to get Petra and Levi back together.

You never truly know a person's intentions.

I looked up at the flowers in the vase that stood in the center of the coffee table, one of the roses already beginning to wilt. I frowned slightly.

My step mother always told me that if a person really loved you, the flowers they got you would last forever. Of course I knew that it wasn't true, but it was a sweet saying and something I wish were true.

Levi promised me he would get off of work early so he could help me out up the Christmas tree and decorate it. I usually wasn't a fan of Christmas because I didn't have anyone to spend it with, I didn't have family or friends, but this year was different. I had him, and I had our friends, most likely excluding Hanji unless I could find the strength to talk to her before then, and it was Levi's birthday. I finally had a reason to celebrate it.

As the holiday approached I began to realize more and more that I didn't know what to get anyone. Levi was easy, but I didn't know what anyone else was interested in. I had known them for months but still didn't know any of their true interests. Erwin seemed to like books since he frequented the shop, but I felt like that was too simple. Mike could use some new cologne because he always smelt like axe so heavily but he might take it the wrong way and think that I'm silently telling him he smells bad.

I sighed in frustration and reached for the remote, trying to turn on the TV only to realize that the batteries were dead. I clicked the power button over and over again to no avail.

I had been sitting in total silence all day since Levi left and it was starting to annoy me. I never noticed how creepy it felt to be all alone in the house until Levi came along.

Me: Can you please get some batteries from the store on your way home?

Levi ♡: of course love. I'll be home in an hour
Levi ♡: I love you

Me: I love you too <3
