This chapter has some minor manga spoilers, but it is really just a mention of a small arc in the manga. Reading this won't give too much context to the arc.

That morning, the class woke up in their dorm living room. The morning sun shone across the students as they started to get up. Aoyama sat near the edge of the group, not fully looking at anyone. His life had just been shown to everyone, and no one was really able to talk with the fast pace of the memories. Aoyama knew that he had to explain some things from his life.

"Ok, so, the belt. Why did you need it as a kid?" Ashido asked, taking the first question.

Hesitantly, Aoyama replied, "my quirk wasn't really made for my body. The laser comes from my belly button, but it is always running. In the beginning, it would drip out of my stomach and burn my skin. It eventually caused some internal damage which made my doctor write a license for me to have the belt."

Midoriya, having known this already, nodded in agreement. He knew what Aoyama's quirk had done to him, that talk was what brought them closer as friends.

"What about your mom? Has she been doing better?" asked Yaoyorozu.

"Yes, she has been doing much better. It was breast cancer so she was able to overcome it. It was hard, but we managed," Aoyama replied.

The class talked with Aoyama, continuing to ask questions and bonding. Aizawa stood at the doorway, a slight smile on his face.
