It was time. It was the beginning of chaos. Many soldiers were injured. Jania was grieving over the loss of some of her soldiers given to her. She had noticed that a good deal of them had not returned with the last of the camp. There was some unrest amongst the soldiers when we had been outside. Once again, Gwaine, Jania, the high ranks and Royalties were in the grand halls to discuss the next steps for victory. One knight came forward and noted that one of the Claribelians came forward and said that they could help. They had taken him hostage. King Angus gave out the order to bring him in.

We all knew that we had no time to waste nor to extract information. However, he did say that he was willing to cooperate. Somehow... After hearing some annoying voices ordering to unhand the man in question, I started to recognise the voice. It took me a moment to realise who it was. When close enough, the Claribelian knight was made visible:

-Claribelian knight, you turned yourself in. Reveal your name and rank.

-I am a knight of Claribel, serving under Prince Gwaine of Claribel. My name is--

-Lincon.

The Royals and other companions all looked in surprise at my casual approach. I slowly walked closer to him in disbelief. All this time, he had managed to avoid the death penalty and losing his title. Gwaine had not lied about managing to keep him alive. When I got close enough, I stood there for a few seconds before hugging him.

-Luna...

-You're alive!

We both smiled after breaking out from our friendly hug. The guards next to him understood that he was not a threat and that they could release him.

-Your Majesties, he poses no threat to us.

-And what makes you say that?

-Because it was thanks to Lincon that Luna survived and that I went off to find her.

-Prince Gwaine speaks the truth. If it weren't for Lincon, I would have been dead a while ago.

-I see... However, why did you abandon your camp, knight of Claribel?

-I abandoned my side as soon as they tried to kill Luna. I ran away from my enemy to join my ally.

I remembered seeing a frown on the Queen's face. She didn't look amused by Lincon's arrival but I had paid no attention to it. We asked him how many soldiers were still fit and those remaining to come. The numbers did not please us. We knew we were bound to lose a lot of people in this bloodshed. It had been revealed to us that the battle plans did not stray too much from the original ones when Gwaine was still in the castle. Gwaine had been presumed dead. We managed to rearrange a few things more efficiently. Everything was planned to perfection. The only fault that we could not plan for was Alfred's remaining troops. They were the only people that had the possibility to ruin everything. But if they were predictable enough then we would still win.
